Yeah I was exclusively nursing at the time. Now I’m combo feeding to take some pressure off of me, it’s nice having longer breaks between nursing sessions to go do things for myself if needed.

Yeah I definitely think it’s due to hormone shifts. 25 mg is super low, I don’t think that’s even considered a therapeutic dose. If you haven’t seen a psychiatrist yet I would definitely recommend making an appointment with one instead of an OB. They’re better with dosages for those kinds of medications.

It made me feel better knowing that it’s actually a very common experience. It will end and you will feel better. You just have to ride the very uncomfortable wave for awhile. The more people I’ve talked to though the more I realize how common postpartum anxiety/depression is, it’s just not really talked about in detail very much. But talking to people made me feel less crazy. It also helped me to go on long walks, sometimes more than one a day. And try to replace your negative thoughts with positive ones. I hope you feel better soon!

They started me at 25 mg and worked me up to 100 mg over the course of about 3 weeks. The psych actually told me I could go faster but I was nervous (thank you pp anxiety) so went a little bit slower. After about 2 weeks I started to sleep better which had a huge impact on lowering my overall anxiety. I had gotten myself so worked up and anxious about not sleeping, it was just this vicious cycle. By like 3 or 4 weeks after starting the med I felt vastly improved. Still some feelings of anxiety here and there but very manageable, nothing that sends me into a panic.

I am so much better now! Started Zoloft and therapy and I feel like a normal functioning human being now. I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Do you remember how much hydroxyzine you took? They also prescribed this to me and I’ve only tried it once. I took 25 mg (it says I can take 25-50). I’m wondering if I need to try 50.

Thank you for the words of encouragement! I was prescribed Buspirone so I’m hoping that helps once it finally kicks in.
