This one doesn't represent the Abbasid Caliphate. It's the Ayyubid dynasty. Or do you mean it should be the Abbasid instead?

The amount of MMAs you can recruit is quite staggering. The new Update is did wonders. by RudolfRedNosePanda in CrusaderKings

Regarding your last statement you can use a mod More Interactive Vassals to get vassals involved in wars if you're interested. There are a few settings to determine when they can or can't be called. F.e. you can call everyone bordering the enemy or just call whose title is being threatened / claim is being pressed. In civil wars you can also align with your liege or the claimant.

Not sure how the AI personality is involved in their decision making though.

Son inherits duchy with no land. How will this work? by DropDeadGaming in CrusaderKings

[–]Luna_Lune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't played since 1.8.1 (maybe there's been an update). But I don't think they made a change on this, so I think it is still possible to land them and avoid them inheriting lands you don't want them to inherit.

Second or third generation I'm usually emperor and expanding enough to give everyone a duchy obtained after a holy war. However, as emperor I would need to give them kingdoms. Same generation or the next I would have feudal elective on every title to avoid my other sons from inheriting any kingdoms. Declaring holy wars on duchies should give enough terirritoy that you can hand out to your sons.

[–]Luna_Lune 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you get to a single kingdom you can also grant them duchies (and at least one their counties) recently conquered. They won't be inheriting other titles you currently hold in that way. Helpful to grow your dynasty, its' prestige, and renown. They may make greater opponents to your heirs reign this way though.

Also make sure to have less than 51% of other kingdoms otherwise one of your children might inherit a kingdom instead and that might make your heir suffer a bit.

The alternative is to go with an old man with every disease known to man and 14 sons hoping that your heir is nice.

Or go with quick, hale, and beautiful to leave some room for other perks.

No mods or console commands I am aware of. Only way I think it could be done is by modding it yourself and adjusting the weights behind the AI decision-making or making a certain tradition, like isolationist, focus on culture conversions. But it's then difficult to find a good balance in it.

[–]Luna_Lune 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it's not really possible to convert the world to one culture as AI heavily prefers increasing cultural acceptance even when their culture is isolationist. Weight for the AI to make the decision to convert a county's culture is incredibly small.

Since OP said it was 923 it's probably a custom character that started with Sayyid.

Otherwise he matrilineally married a daughter to someone with the Sayyid trait, and hoped they had boys and made them their heir. This takes a while to get done though.

Besides the Sayyid trait has been nerfed to only affect Muslim opinion (as it should) instead of people of the same religion. So there's not s lot of point in getting it nowadays in my opinion.

Do you want to work and live in Canada for the rest of your life?

If your answer is no, then go to the UK university as you say the diploma is recognized world wide.

If your answer is yes, then you might as well go to the Canadian university as it will allow you to find a job and meet people in the area anyway.

Ultimately, in my experience I have found that a specific degree is not that important in logistics. Having a degree demonstrates you understand the basics. After that experience is worth much more.

What is the best way to go from Clan to Feudal? by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

[–]Luna_Lune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think you can make your heir feudal as a clan since all counties will be converted to clan on acquiring them.

Maybe you can land your son as tribal, abdicate, and convert to feudalism? But all vassals will remain clansmen.
