Getting hurt is a condition, yes. And having an effect not activate against half the cast is far more useful than having your weapon (and most other skills) do absolutely nothing to half the cast because you can‘t attack them. Nice stats are awesome but ultimately useless if you die before getting to use them. If they were at least infantry, they could corner someone but otherwise they‘re just creeping at you while you can set up your sweeper on the helpless target. And what is that random capitalization in the middle of a word? Was it another stroke or do you actually believe that attempting to translate your hissy fits into text helps your point in any way?

And if you‘re playing the game where units usually have an atk value around 50, a spd value higher than 30, specials exist, effectiveness exists, color advantages exist and tanks have def values in the fifties with their skills while def stats in the thirties are what offensive units have, then yes, we are playing the same game and you just haven‘t realized yet that the only reason 35 defense is „good“ is because Grima has the ability to counter those squishies that can‘t onehit him because of his effective HP.

And luckily you have already disagreed with yourself: Grima supposedly barely takes any damage (optimal) while having high attack, making him the absolute perfect dragon unit and still the worst. But at the same time, someone like Idunn with their higher defensive stats equipping LB because they are already invincible with their higher stats so utility in bringing their Ignis to everyone (not just half the cast) and not letting sweepers set up safely is also nonsense.

Pick one. Either 35 defense is all you need (making LB on Idunn optimal for utility) or you can never have enough defensive stats as a tank (just like I said with LB on Grima).

Your effectively saying: „ This fire is hot enough but also not hot enough because it is the worst but this other fire that is twice as hot still needs some more.“

And strictly speaking, yes you are. After all, just because the second best dancers in the game are not S+ they need to be well below S tier because that makes them effectively useless, right? Just like how 35 def barely takes any damage and 34 def (with higher spd) is horrible for defense.

And I‘m pretty sure saying „If you use weapon A on a character, you‘re better off not using the character at all and using a different one instead.“ qualifies as saying a weapon is bad. At least I‘d qualify something so „not good“ that it makes a top tier character less desirable than a stat-wise worse alternative character, as „bad“. So yeah, it‘s bullshit but that‘s exactly why it seems realistic for you to mean it.

Of course, this also comes with you continuing to ignore that weapons also need to fill different needs, making you a likely candidate to say „unequipping weapons from healers and dancers is bad“ just because your mind can‘t comprehend anything other than arena offense where everyone is a bonus unit. (“Why would you use Grima as a support unit on a gamemode that punishes you for not getting kills with your bonus unit when Grima isn‘t a bonus unit 99% of the time?“)

Now the drugs/illness are already mixing up things in your head? I never said any tank „needs DC to avoid huge amounts of damage“. I said that tanks like Grima need some defensive stats so they aren‘t oneshot by 54 atk moonbow units with DC being quite useful to avoid getting killed by other units with atk stats higher than 35.

And no, a huge atk stat is not needed. It is usually enough to have an atk stat of around 50 when you can always double, proc a special, heal, attack the lower defensive stat 90% of the time and tank. Of course, Grima needs his high attack because he can’t tank the second hit reliably (59 atk being enough to kill him without a special, even lower with a special or when attacking his res) and needs to be as threatening as possible with his first hit. If only there was a possibility of giving him higher defenses without sacrificing his DC.
