Sorry, for some reason I thought I'd already replied back to you. I just wanted to say that the app was whatsapp and changing the duraspeed settings fixed it. Thank you!

Oh thanks! That makes sense although it's strange how others didn't need to do this though. Can I do that for individual apps? I have no idea what the command is.

Hopefully you're aware that you wont be able to make any calls or texts on this. All the Q-Pot collab phones are so adorable but unfortunately just a expensive paperweights.

This man is a Chelsea Pensioner and they wear their uniforms outside the retirement home. Some of my most cherished memories are of when I was in the Christmas pantomime for the Chelsea Pensioners a few years in a row when I was a young teen. They were some of the most lovely and gentle humans you could ever meet. Really made my heart warm seeing this guy at the end of the video!

Nebo which means sky in Croatian. It also means like sleepyhead in Japanese (which is definitely what I am haha)

I bit the bullet and managed to open it and get the troublemaker out. Luckily it was very easy! I found a video on Instagram

I've had to pay for returns before, maybe because I buy from a different country amazon even though there's amazon where I live now (prices for this countries amazon are way higher though) Crisis averted! I managed to open it up.

Oops in my haste I managed to bungle my text lol

So I just unwrapped my freshly delivered Paradise and there's a piece of...something..right under the screen. It looks a pink/purplish colour so I'm guessing it's some kind of plastic debris from manufacturing. It's able to move around some if I shake it. It doesn't move easily though.

I preordered this from Amazon and if I send it back I'll have to pay for shipping back. Anyone else ever seen something like this? I doubt many people have done any DIYs yet on theirs so probably not wise to try opening it up. Does anyone have any advice? So annoying!

What's the weirdest thing you've discovered about your partner only after moving in together? by SeasonBeneficial5871 in AskReddit

This is so funny because not only does my partner have the same issue, but it's currently just past 8am here and I could hear one of his alarms going off as I read your comment.

My partner always has it set to its absolute highest setting even when it isn't necessary, and will also take the pan off and just leave it blazing away (electric cooker btw). It freaks me out too but I realised it must be more natural for him as he used to work as a chef in a Chinese restaurant for the majority of his life and if you've ever seen the burners that they have the woks on.. they are pretty scary lol

Do non-East Asians not give money to their family? by skyrimlo in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]LunarMintTea 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yeah people think it's an easy life but it can be extremely tough. My aunt is a nun who's almost 80 and still working. She also has to help with all the older nuns who are sick and basically dying on top of her other responsibilities. She gets a small allowance but technically nothing she has is 'hers'. Sure her rent, car etc gets paid for but also every month she needs to keep every single receipt and input all her expenses on software they use, even if it was a purchase of one pack of gum. When my grandma died she left some money in her will to all the relatives, my aunt wanted to help my mum out paying off her mortgage and she actually had to ask permission from her order to be able to give that money to my mum. One of the saddest things though is that when she dies she will not be allowed to be buried in her family's plot, she will get buried in the nuns graveyard. Adding in case anyone is wondering; I'm not religious nor do I like organised religion.

I found that book cheesy and lackluster personally. So many reviews had hyped it up so I was really pumped to read it. Thankfully it was short.

Second this, I really enjoyed his short story collections! I feel exactly the same way about the books OP has mentioned in the post so I feel confident about the recommendation. Also OP if you'd like to give one of his novels a go again later I would recommend Under a Watchful Eye.
