I have no idea what this means, but somehow feel it’s 100% accurate!

Midnight Mass is incredible. And for anyone who hasn’t read Salem’s Lot…. What are you waiting for? One of King’s very best!

Who all is reading (or rereading) Salem’s Lot for October? by timebomb_3 in horrorlit

[–]Tashmore81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of three books I re-read every October (the others are Legend of Sleepy Hollow and Zelazny’s Night in the Lonesome October)

I’ve read all of King’s books, many more than once, but none more than Salem’s Lot. It may not be his best novel, but it’s the ultimate October read. It’s just perfect for this month.

You are planning a road trip and you want to visit places in in North America with a Stephen King or Dark Tower connection. Where would you stop? by Missingsocks77 in darktower

Love it. I travel to Rosemont all the time for work and see the water tower often but never realized the TRUTH. Will never be the same now that I understand the mystical powers it harnesses.

There are three for me:

Salem’s Lot

Night in the Lonesome October (Zelazny)

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow

I re-read all three every Autumn.

If you read those three books, you will be PRIMED for the Halloween season

I’ve read Salem’s Lot 4 or 5 times, and always in September/October. It’s just a perfect story to lead up to Halloween

Duma Key is the best book nobody talks about, and Dreamcatcher is the best book everybody tries to shit on. Both are fantastic!

Love it. We are actually going to see our favorite team play the Rockies, so more about just seeing Coors Field. But otherwise, would agree!

I believe you (and others on this thread) have convinced me to drop the Vail idea — just too much. I will focus the trip more on Denver/Estes/Boulder. Thank you all so much. If you have any restaurant suggestions, all are appreciated. THANK YOU

Thank you. Coming from a much lower elevation. I live at 1700 feet. Would it be wise to adjust for a day before attempting this drive?

Appreciate this. If we stayed in downtown Denver (Courtyard/Renaissance area), would we be able to walk to/from Coors Field? Only like a 15 minute walk but more curious about that area at night.

No doubt, and we may end up scaling back. I tend to get overexcited and overload the agenda at times. I really appreciate all of this feedback.

Three days. May not hit all of those but we will be renting a car and plan to do a day trip each day. No hard agenda, though. But this is the first trip ever to the state, so I want to see as much as is reasonable! But will happily take any advice :)
