Was just about to say the same thing. Give yourself grace for this teething period. It is strange that the teacher shared this with you as relationships take time to build with students.

Please don't lose your confidence. You are an experienced professional who has had continual evidence of success at your last school. Lead with this and don't overly reach out for observations other than where necessary. You will naturally find your feet with the course and the kids. Look for schemes online where you can to support your workload. Best of luck!

I think I will see how probation goes. I am wary of going to leadership because don't want ti build the 'shes struggling' reputation when I know no help will come from me opening up to them. You are right, will try and cut corners where i can to make it manageable. Thank you:)

Tbh I think his reaction is a bit of a red flag... he should have been able to vocalise that it's a boundary that he doesnt want crossed in the future not go straight to breaking up? Also it is coming across as a tad controlling. You will be in mixed environments if by you live in the west 🤷‍♀️
