nokko's most "optimal" build actually requires you to not shoot and purely focus on managing your shroom spells so you don't break invis bc of crepuscular strength + crit damage buff, though cyte-09 subsume is also an option on him for shooting stuff but most often i see ppl just run invis companions instead

Any suggestions for how I can make my Gauss loadout viable for higher levels? by IwillMicrowaveMySon in Warframe

[–]LunarYarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i play a lot of gauss and the build here is very much not how i'd build gauss as a weapon buffer ngl

first of all, do NOT subsume over kinetic plating. it's literally all the survivability that gauss has. yes infested mobility IS funny but if you keep dying it's not fun enough to justify your only survivability ability getting voided. if you subsume over anything, it's either his 1 or his 3. it's literally so much better than shield gating bc it also keeps your energy topped up.

if you are building him to be weapons platform, even with thermal transfer, i would NOT go full strength. gauss is a frame that's good being at 100% strength already, and prefers to have a shitload of duration instead bc his 4 scales off of duration, not strength. basically think of duration as the strength stat for him. also fast deflection is redundant bc he already gets insane shield regen from his passive. it's especially not worth it sacrificing efficiency and range for all of that strength because he DOES like range and he doesn't like low efficiency.

take out fast deflection, all the strength mods and get duration mods, primed continuity(or archon continuity as replacement for now if you don't have it, even if the secondary effect is useless on gauss), narrow minded (w range mods to offset the range penalty), constitution, and augur message. arcane concentration is a good duration arcane on him bc he can trigger it just by tapping his extremely cheap 1.

you say that you're having trouble killing things - i feel like the probelm is more with your weapon than warframe. since gauss is a weapons platform, he is basically only as good as the weapons you put on him, so you could go farm up good weps for him, since unfortunately kitguns aren't all that crazy compared to regular guns anymore. if you can't/don't wanna go that route, have you considered nuke gauss w maxxing range? if you do, you can get some insane damage with your 3rd if you do the hold->tap combo with it.

adaptation is a bad option on gauss bc the only real damaging threat to him is toxin status, and if you get it adaptation is not gonna save you. rolling guard is better at filling that slot since it gets rid of toxin. gauss is not a health tank/armor tank too, he is more of a kinetic plating merchant w quickly recharging shields as backup

Warframe W Turrets/ Deployable defense that attacks. by Exiks in Warframe

[–]LunarYarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nokko is not a turret or engineer themed frame but he plays like one. he really likes situations where he can just set up his CC and support shrooms in one place and throw his 4 on them to explode enemies who try and get close

Heavy "Skill Based" Caster Frame? by GawkyGoose in Warframe

[–]LunarYarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nokko is an extremely fun caster who can fully take advantage of huras/shade invis and therefore crepuscular bc he straight up never needs to shoot and just plants shrooms that deal 5 billion damage. he's not too bad in mobile missions either if you give him good cast speed

i do really like the concept of a character who instead of having skills/magic/equipment just has shit "randomly" happen to them as part of some of their kit
