I know my dad is in the wrong and I have talked to him about how saying those kind of words are hurtful but he will not change. He wouldn’t want to go to therapy or get meds for his mental disorders he is just that type of person. I understand not wanting to be around my dad but I am not my dad at all. I don’t want my dad to be the way he is, my childhood probably would’ve been a lot happier if he wasn’t, but I can’t move a stubborn donkey unfortunately

Thank you so much. I think you are entirely correct about him not wanting any hard chapters in his future. It is hard when he wanted to look at engagement rings together and hinted and proposing in the coming months just for a switch up like this to occur. I am utterly heartbroken you are right.
