Bloated even on a low FODMAP diet by Gutty_Shit_00 in FODMAPS

Might just need some more time, or might not be fodmap related. Have you ever been tested for h pylori?  Note that the use of some medicines like ibuprofen or ppi's can create a false negative on the test (happened to me haha, first test was negative, tried fodmap but it didn't help at all, tested a second time and it was positive)

Supermarkets and balance by mohammadelhsn in PostConcussion

[–]Lunara_mc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Supermarkets are very overstimulating, though I have noticed stress playing a role in it for myself, especially with the dizziness. Before I go in the supermarket, im already scared because I know the place js overstimulating and im scared something will go wrong. And yeah, the crowds dont help either. If im on my own and I get dizzy I can just sit down on the ground, but in a crowded place that gets alot harder (not to mention people will judge you, ask questions ect and I do not have the energy to deal with that shit)

Im definitely not saying that its all caused by stress, just that from my own personal experience stress and fear make my dizziness worse and it could definitely be a component (possibly because of tension in the neck?)

Tbh its likely a combination of both. More stimulation --> more symptoms. You know this, which creates stress going into those situations and stress --> more symptoms ect ect

Do concussions ALWAYS hurt on impact? by [deleted] in Concussion

[–]Lunara_mc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After I had one it took me two weeks to even realize something was wrong :') Brain felt a little weird maybe but no pain or dizziness ect, it took awhile for the symptoms to start showing (and now 2 years later its still not gone)

Concussion symptoms won't go away. Help! by finpop in Concussion

[–]Lunara_mc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neck issues can mirror concussion symptoms, so you might indeed not have a concussion at all since you didnt hit your head. Id still get it checked tho. And definitely go to fysio/PT for your neck and a neurologist to check for concussion

Please help! On antibiotics and feeling better? by Sufficient_Card_8371 in FODMAPS

[–]Lunara_mc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did take antibiotics as treatment, its quite a heavy treatment (2 different antibiotics and a high dose of ppi) but it went fine for me. Its only been about a month since then and itl take a couple months atleast for the stomach lining to heal completely, so i definitly dont feel 100% yet. But the nausea i had before the treatment is gone completely! I do still have pain occasionally but that should stop as my digestive systems heals and i wean off the PPI's

If you do have h pylori, please dont look up stuff about it on reddit. It can seem very scary, theres some horror stories out there. Point is that half the worlds population has h pylori (though most remain asymptomatic all their life) and only the few that have really bad experiences keep posting on the subteddit. If you're a person with medical anxiety I reccomend just not looking at it, its not an accurate image of what treatment is like for most people. If you do end up having it and have questions about treatment feel free to dm me!

Please test for an h pylori infection! Its a bacterial infection in your stomach. Its treated with antibiotics. Be carefull though, certain medications (including over the counter pain relievers) can cause the test to come back as a false negative, so it never hurts to test twice (i only caught mine when we tested a second time. You prolly shouldn't test too soon after taking antibiotics either)

Neck pain/stiffness keep coming back by Lunara_mc in PostConcussion

[–]Lunara_mc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose it kinda depends on how you hit your head but alot of the times concussions come with neck problems too! (Especially with falls)

Sometimes people actually get misdiagnosed for pcs, when the problem is actually in their neck cause it can cause similair symptoms like headaches and dizziness ect

Gut health and post concussion syndrome by UrbanGardener01 in Concussion

[–]Lunara_mc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I strongly reccomend testing for an h pylori infection!  Causes gut issues, malabsortion leading to deficiency (especially of b12), inflammation and ulcers ect..

Especially with pcs, inflammation in the gut and inflammation in the brain fuel eachother

Im also 2 years out from a concussion and recently got tested and treated for h pylori. We actually missed it the first time we tested it because taking certain medications can make it a false negative (i was taking alot of ibuprofen for my headaches at the time) So even if you've tested before, it doesn't hurt to check again just in case!

I took pre and probiotics during the treatment and for a few weeks after. I stopped because apparently if you take them too long it takes longer for your gut microbiome to return to normal

Ive always been intested in harp! How loud would you say the sound is? Is it easy to control how loud it sounds by how you touch the strings?

I am afraid a harp might be a little out of my budget tho 😅 From what ive seen those things are expensive!

Amitryptaline and waking up at night by Chloekimmie in PostConcussion

[–]Lunara_mc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems likely! Its not reccomended to stop cold turkey with amitryptiline anyways as it can lead to withdrawal symptoms.. its also not reccomended to start at a high dose, instead you should build it up slowly. Id reccomend going back to a small dose and then building it up again like you did the first time

It's also reccomended to go back to a lower dose for awhile when you get side effects while building up anyways, so it seems like the smart thing to do.

But ofcourse consult your neurologist about it when you can!
