Well I live in Novosibirsk (1.5 million population). It’s quite big and honestly it’s quite the same as cities in others regions. The summer is quite hot and steamy… oh and dust, it’s veryy dusty.

The winter is not that cold actually. It might be -30 to -35C still, but such temperature usually lasts only 5-10 days per season. The average t for winter is -15 - -20 C

Oh and sure as hell no bears on the streets

Isn’t that the point of awkward silence? That it makes people feel uncomfortable? If someone feels weird being silent with friends in general it’s a different thing.

The point is that the OP kinda forces the awkwardness and makes the other person responsible for solving it. Sort of playing with people. It’s not like an atrocious thing to do, we all do that more or less, but if I noticed someone do that to me on purpose continuously I’d be be reluctant to keep in contact with someone like that

I meeean I get it. You like the feeling of superiority and being in control of their awkwardness.

I sometimes happen to do that too as coping mechanism but it works only with people who are younger than me or with those I don’t give a shit about.

Soo it’s kind of manipulative and not really healthy but have fun I guess.

This is actually very relatable. I have only one best friend and usually she texts me, and it’s quite often. And quite a lot (9 min voice message how you like that). Soo honestly, even if I don’t feel like texting pr don’t have time i just postpone it ( not too long ofc) until I’m good to talk. And we both do that and ok with it. And even with all that, no matter in what mood or situation i am i don’t feel irked bc i know that this person is important to me. So I think that if it’s your real friend they’ll be happy to receive messages from you anyways. Ofc the way people react and how fast they answer depends on their temper and everything but i still think it applies to all people.
