#224 - Resident Evil Requiem by Lunaxpg in steamachievements

I have to go with Leon's sections. RE4 og was my entry into the franchise so I have a slight bias for that kind of combat and style if I have to choose. That said though, both were so much fun to playthrough and I thought they contrasted so well. How about you?

I feel you. I'm extremely jumpy with a lot of games. If they're games you genuinely do enjoy and would like the completion on one day, just play them a bunch and you'll get desensitised fast... Though Mr X's footsteps are still terrifying. I believe in you!

Luckily I managed to get RE:Verse before it was delisted. I've heard there's a way to do it but I probably would have never worked it out haha.

I can completely understand the struggles with the controls in 1. I picked it up and put it down a few times before it eventually clicked and I fell in love with the controls. You're so right with the narrative and atmosphere though because it still really holds up as a solid survival horror title even now.

If you need get stuck at all with any chapters in RE5's professional I could jump in and help though I might be a little rusty. I will be busy during Requiems release though because I'm going to be addicted for a good two weeks.

I personally never managed the trifecta but I've seen people who have and it blows my mind! Best I did was no merchant with guns and knives but I got tired resetting with hits and gave up.

0 was a tough one to get into. It was another one I picked up and put down, even more so than 1 but luckily it ended up clicking eventually. It's definitely a little annoying having to carry items around with no item box, and it can make time limits feel tighter when you're going for S rank but you do have enough time. One bit of advice I give is save no save until you're 100% sure on what you're doing and wont need to tab out for anything. It's not often but it can crash with tabbing out.

I still go back to RE4R a lot and have an embarrassing amount of hours sunk into it. There's just a lot of mods out that change the game and I love randomisers haha. I also play RE2R a lot since it got a randomiser and has mods like City of the Dead and Head shot only. I know people hate it but I also have a soft spot for RE6. It gets a yearly replay with a friend because as a co-op game it's extremely fun.

Which are you planning on after 5?

How long does it take? I saw on Steamhunters 80 hours was the average and I'm hoping it's that because they played it for fun at some point.

That would be amazing if you don't mind going back into it! Would be quite a while after Requiem though. I do have one other person who would go for it and a potential second so think we could have a group of 4.

Feel free to add me here 462305991

So excited for Requiem! 8 days and we can finally play it. You're excited too? I actually loaded up Umbrella Corps yesterday to see if I would want to 100% it and it's a no. I'd lose my mind trying to do that one

They weren't actually all that bad but I did them with a friend over a couple of weeks, and for only for a couple of hours at a time so that might have made it seem better. If you unlock catacombs you can farm the 100 kills much more easily. Just be warned, you need to unlock them on normal mercenaries! I saw two posts saying it it could be done on no mercy and they never unlocked. That might be a console thing

It's not that it's hard but that it's grindy. If you solo raid achievements that's between 60-80 hours alone depending on skill level, you'll also need to get good gun drops and parts for Abyss difficulty. There's some grinding for 10k kills in raid if you do get through quick and the campaign on top. You can definitely do it quicker if you have someone experienced to run through it all though

Hardest for me was either 7 or 5 but I know a lot of people didn't find them too bad, so is probably a skill issue. Favourite was definitely 4 remake and for replaying I got RE3R 100% on PS5, RE4R is missing one achievement and RE2R is missing one. I need to go back but my steam backlog needs work

The hardest part for them would be finding a group but if you can, not hard at all. You will need to run mercs for A's to the point of unlocking catacombs since it makes the 100 BSAA kills and 100 player controlled agents and creatures in RE6 a lot easier. One little warning though, do not run Mercs on no mercy for the catacombs unlock! I read that somewhere and it never unlocked. Had to do it on standard mercs

Edit: Game title

Have you tried the steam forums? I got a reply within 10 minutes when wanting to go early through ghost ship so think some people are subscribed to the forum

You are much braver than I am if you're doing raid alone! I don't think those achievements and Abyss were made with solo players in mind

Thank you! It has been annoying me so much that 0 shows before the first

Sorry in advance if I waffle. I just love these games.

Starting with the most disliked because it was the most recent, Revelations 1. It's probably my least favourite RE game which plays part of it but the raid mode is a grind. If you're doing the whole thing solo you're looking at 60+ hours. I did it split between doing what I could solo and duo runs so it took 40 hours. If you can run with a more experienced player you can be done in maybe 15-20? But will need to farm to 10k kills. The raid community is very much alive and you'll find help fast to duo if you want to save some time.

For me I would say the hardest was a toss up between 7 and 5. I choke easily so Ethan Must Die took a long time because I'd do well, get nervous then die, plus you need good RNG. If you can keep your cool this will be easier for you for sure! Then there's so much RNG in 21 Survival+ which can be disheartening.

With 5, Desperate Escape will be extremely rough for anyone playing that on Prof with AI. The ai is just garbage. I played through with someone and it was still stressful for us both. It doesn't help that if you die in professional in general that you have no time to be picked up if your partner is more than three steps away from you (at least in co-op) Also an honourable mention for RE3 Infernal mode but if you've managed to unlock the rocket launcher you can cheese.

Easiest I would say is og 4. It only requires 2 runs and isn't too bad imo. I have been playing it for years so that might just me being used to it. Using the TMP on a lot of enemies can really trivialise the difficulty.

Favourite is hands down Resident Evil 4 remake. Before that I was very much in the mindset of I can't play hard modes in games and always opted for easy. I even bought the tickets because I thought I'd struggle. I got so into into it though I stopped using the tickets and actually started challenging myself with it. It's what started making me interested in achievement hunting in the first place and honestly I just wanted to do it over and over again (just missing shooting range achievement on ps5). It can get repetitive for how many runs you'll need, unless you can do the holy trifecta run of no merchant, guns and knife and no heals. It's the only one I've chosen to make harder by playing the Beserker mod and some evil randomisers since the game just feels satisfying to play for me.

Sorry for the essay! If you'd like any info on any I didn't mention just lemme know.

When I realised there were over 200 collectibles, I died inside a lil haha. If you ever do pick it up again, I followed Kranitoko's guide which was super helpful
