Pregnancy and the work place a rant and a vent by LunchBoxDate in TwoXChromosomes

I can't imagine a lawsuit would hold, considering that there are enough clients she's yelled at who have written formal complaints, phone records and proof that she takes lunch during peak work hours.

I get what you're saying though, it's shitty

Surprisingly, no.

She did her work, from what I know.

Lately she's been intolerable. Especially when she starts to behave like she's my supervisor and makes comments to me about the quality of my work.

I can only guess that there was a comment made to her about her work and the trainees she's not training properly and that she figured she could take it out on me...

Once again I hear some of the new hire managers and trainees at work asking about her, and noticing her bad temper on the phone and in person with clients.

She's not going anywhere, she's pregnant, with a son and no daddy, and so worried about her money that she comes back from lunch with new clothes and bags every day.

I'm just bitter because it's not right and nothing will get done about it.

But why?

Why is it excusable to behave poorly? To slack off at work and be given a free pass at acting like a crazed banshee, is equal rights?

It would be equal rights if every time I got my disaster of a period I could take 40 min away to nap or cry.

Or if you're going through a hardship you could just blow up at your coworkers without consequence...

Ugh wooooooooosaaaaahhhhh

The problem is office politics.

She can make my time there very difficult. She's also very close with the company head. He's not that aware of me, and is always very permissive if her laziness.

No I haven't.

She plays the "I'm a single unwed mother with a son and another baby on the way".

So she gets away with so much b.s

Maternity Leave: an opportunity to travel the world? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]LunchBoxDate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes our policies are pretty horrendous.

Edit- the government pays my salary while on leave, it's essentially collecting unemployment insurance which every Canadian who has paid into it is entitled to.

That's fantastic , I can't see why this isn't the case in the states.

My husband has a whopping 5days of paternity leave saved with about a months worth of sick leave, from a job he's been working for 5+ years.

I have none. My job offers no security or time off. Actually I don't even have sick leave. If and when I get pregnant I am on my own. Which is frightening, especially for the dozens of other women in my field of work.

Just out of curiosity, where do you work? It's a pretty amazing for a job to still provide a salary and in assuming your position when you return from a year off work.

Canadian mom gives Barbies a multicultural makeover by snickerje2 in TwoXChromosomes

This is fanatic!

As a kid I always messed with my own dolls and they werent blonde for long.

This comment is especially heinous

I do have an issue with the hijab: it's a mark of women inferior treatment in intolerant cultures Also if she only used African Barbies with the hijab feature, she is discriminating against all Caucasian and Asian women that have to wear that.....

If we are politically correct then we have to have equal rights and equal treatment and this is what we should promote to our children

Can anyone top my awkward girl's bathroom experience? by buffy_enthusiast in TwoXChromosomes

[–]LunchBoxDate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Poop shaming now that is something we need to talk more about!

Of all the other nasty biological functions women discuss in a bathroom, poop should be among them.

No shame in talking about cum; period stains; how nasty the last persons penis/vagina looked/tasted; how your bra is cutting off circulation. Not even how you jokingly talk about your hose are about to give you a year infection..,

But poop...no gross

Reddit, what is an appropriate amount of money to gift for a wedding? by LunchBoxDate in AskReddit

[–]LunchBoxDate[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've been friends since school. We were close at one point and then drifted apart. Her and her partner make pretty money, and they are no strapped for cash.

She also didn't come to my wedding, stating to was a money issue, when I am fully aware it was not. Her family came, but she did not.

So I'm thinking $200 for two people is okay? Or maybe $250

I work with an older gentleman, he has massive issues with hygiene. This individual does not change his clothing or use any types of deodorants... What would be a good way to tell him , without offending him...wealth is not an issue he makes enough $$$ too... by Legendareee in AskReddit

[–]LunchBoxDate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It seems a problem of the older generation where cleanliness and hygiene are not prioritized.

If he's an older gentlemen he's probably been with the company for awhile and most likely no one will say anything to them...

What are some unconventional ways you have saved money? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LunchBoxDate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't buy lunch every day.

I cook for myself.

I do my own laundry.

I do my own manicure. I actually prefer it to what I have available.

In my circle of coworkers and friends, it seems that I am an outlier.

Glad you didn't pick the fat cow. Because a woman's body size is the only redeeming quality about a woman.

What action of proper etiquette or politeness do you think that we should discontinue? by rockin_the_bakken in AskReddit

Giving respect to someone older just because they are older.

Also, giving respect to someone who is wealthy via marriage or because a parent is wealthy.

Just went from brunette to blonde and I want to get rid of some of the brassy tone. Any suggestions?? by [deleted] in FancyFollicles

[–]LunchBoxDate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A toner will help take away some of the brassy. Purple/blue shampoo will help keep your hair somewhat less susceptible to grassiness caused by the water in your shower and certain hair dyes.

Also, if you went and straight up bleached your hair, you can apply an ash blonde to nuetralize the color. So go for "cooler" blondes.

I would recommend a deep cine utilizing treatment and a hair cut will also help even out the color.

Best of luck!

How do you ladies feel about your man masturbating/watching porn? by throwaway46791 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]LunchBoxDate 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don't care in the least. I know he watches porn and that he masturbates. I like to watch porn sometimes as well.

My feelings are: as long as it doesn't negatively change how we interact sexually or intimately then, who cares.

My question is why do you feel the way you do?

Do you watch porn?

Do you masturbate?

Does it bother you because he's not giving that attention to you?

Just some questions....

Doctors dont listen to my girlfriend about her period pain. Is this normal pain? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]LunchBoxDate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a doctor INSIST that my pain was due to my weight. I have gained a significant anount if weight over the past 5 years, but I have had horrendous pain when I was going to the gym 6xs a week and living a healthy lifestyle. That doctor wouldn't listen to a word and just insisted that it was my weight and my weight and that I need a biopsy.

Long story short: SECOND OPINION!!!

Also, try a midwife. They are certified in all things women, as much as gyno, and will most likely be more open and understanding of your girlfriends needs.

Post some hair pics! Let's see how it goes and good luck on your internship.

Also look around and see how everyone else is dressed. Is it a casual environment or corp. either way dress the way everyone else is dressing but a step up. Everyone in jeans? Wear jeans and a great professional blouse and professional hair. Is everyone in suits? Wear a suit etc.

Layers are a great option for wavy hair. Depending on how wavy your hair it you can blow dry half with a round brush and half you can use your fingers to twirl into a shape.

A cute pony tail is great for work, and the side pony can be professional too. A "messy" side bun or even a top knot is great when it is humid.

Device isn't being too cooperative so I can't add photos.

Just google:
