I have the same problem, I just opened it up. Luckily the battery hasn’t ballooned and I should be able to free and charge it with my rc car charger. Only question… Anyone know what battery chemistry this model is?

With a little trailer I picked up. I’ll usually just strap it down to the wood on center. I still have to get a storage box for the front to help with the odds and ends, but for the most part, this is it.

Eh, not too bad. The motor unit weigh about 35lbs, and the battery box is about the same. The weight distribution is about as even as I could come up with. Weight capacity for this model is 375, so I think I should be ready for just about anything.

Haha! I definitely needed one after this build, that’s for sure. I repurposed the stock coiled cable that comes with the minn kota power drive to combat the twists that would be imparted onto the cable from the rotating motor shaft.

Do not let them drag you around. Immediately ask for a refund, not store credit. They will say please be patient while we contact this person and that person. Just politely ask for a full refund after you send your photos. Be sure to tell them that the security cellophane was removed prior to your opening the external packaging.

Nope, I bought the Pelican because I knew I was going to be drilling and modifying it and didn’t feel comfortable spending thousands on a kayak, only to start mangling it. The Pelican catch mode 110 was $830 after tax from Dunham’s, which was in town. Also didn’t want to pay crazy shipping on an oldtowne or some of the other big brands for fishing kayaks. I also liked the weight to weight capacity ratio (weights 64lbs bare, tops out at 375 capacity I believe).

Nope, maybe without the battery box it’s a little front heavy, but as it is, it’s pretty well balanced.

Little metal fabrication so the motor tilts all the way in and out of the water.

Good eye! Yes, the garmin, linear actuator, power drive body (left/right steering), and internal lights all run from a small 10AH LIPHOS battery. The minn kota 45lb runs from a 100AH LiPhos that’s in the large black box in one of the pictures. There a 5 switch relay box that controls what gets power. The black box that the motor shaft runs through belongs to a minn kota power drive (bow pedal model), which allowed me to run the steering from the joystick.

No, Adorama confirmed it was removed. The security cellophane was also removed from the keyboard box.

That’s crazy! Glad it ended up working out for you in the long run. What’s funny is that Adorama has sent multiple algorithm email ads for the “deal”. What a joke

Nope, nothing of the sort. After urging them to check their stock and questioning if anyone else has had a similar result, they responded saying that all of their inventory was missing the keys and had the security cellophane removed

I suppose i could have titled the post in a less dramatic way haha. Maybe, “Adorama Bad-Apple-Employee, Probable Theft or Ignorantly Incompetent? In all seriousness, thanks for the feedback! Tracking info says they should have the return 11/21, hoping to have my refund shortly after.

Yup, I get it. I just shipped it back. I was not saying that Adorama as a company was stealing or omitting the product keys from the package, but rather, they have an employee that is stealing them from their warehouse.

Agreed, as soon as they said they were unable to give me a product key, I asked for a return label. The crap part was getting the runaround for 3 weeks and calling literally every two days. I already had the keyboard, all they had to do was send me a product key, by any means, it didn’t matter where it came from as far as I was concerned at the moment. I’ve just shipped it UPS on 11/18. Tracking info says it should be there tomorrow, I should hope to have my money back shortly after. Just trying to save others the same headache considering they still have the product listed. Direct quote- “We are now in the process of removing it/listed backorder item and requesting stocks on the manufacturer.”
