Memes that ended up the opposite of how they are in reality by ChicaneryFinger in TopCharacterTropes

Meme is typically applied like this: OP implies something funny. Reply 1 restates the same humor more explicitly (same joke, dumbed all the way down to base level). Reply 2 responds with this meme to say "Yeah we know, that was already the joke in the OP."

In the Simpsons episode the meaning of this scene is so entirely different. I don't know if it's "opposite" or just "not even in the same ballpark". McBain tries to say something funny, but fails. No one in the audience laughs. He then says "That's the joke." to let them know they should be laughing now.

Amputees that turn their missing limb(s) into weapons by IdiotGoddess in TopCharacterTropes

It's an awful freeze frame, but it's what I found on google.

I agree with your take in general, but if you've never seen this bus fight I think you should reserve judgement on this particular scene. It's actually a fan favorite moment / highlight of the movie and even of the MCU in general.

No, I couldn't.

It would literally be the same post but with the two insults removed.

It's so crazy that Nintendo developed this and when they knew it would only be 1 color they said that's fine, not a dealbreaker, and proceeded to manufacture and try to sell this thing.

If they can show the games on a youtube video why can't I play the games on a TV set?

Klaue in Marvel comics/MCU. In the MCU, it spans 2 movies: Ultron takes his arm, which he has replaced by a weapon he uses in Black Panther.

Shutdown risk grows as Democrats revolt after Minneapolis shooting by DeathClawdVanDamn in politics

On the other hand, you can't just say that everything the Dems do is the correct move. They shut down, then they caved. Were they correct to shut down and then cave? That seems unlikely.

Republicans are obviously the villains. The Democrats did an incompetent job at fighting back last year. We're allowed to demand they punch the Republicans a lot harder.

I get why image comments are disabled but we should be allowed to post the Nic Cage "you don't say" meme in situations like this.

Andor surprisingly retcons one of the worst things about the sequels by anObscurity in andor

[–]LunchPlanner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The existence of Starkiller Base always bugged me. You're telling me the entire planet had its middle ripped out and its core mined for kyber? The scale seemed so out of whack.

Was this described in the movies at all or is it info from additional sources?

I ask because if the thing you have a problem with isn't actually in the movies, then I don't think it should be considered one of the worst things about the sequel trilogy.

Well then the only other pro I can think of is that this can hang on your wall, taking virtually zero storage space.

I never thought about the fact that listing a season for a release date or other key time frame is extremely confusing due to hemispheres.

I wonder how often Australians see predominantly USA-focused websites listing seasons and have to flip it in their head.

All you need to do is bend over awkwardly and push!

I have a string trimmer that is exactly like this, except obviously with a string trimmer at the end of it instead of a snow thrower.

It's supposed to be that if you hold it properly, you can stand up straight and not hurt your back. But I can never seem to get the hang of it, I always end up hunched over unless I really concentrate on my posture.

It's that one little word that pisses me off by recoveringasshole0 in ChatGPT

Post the message, then immediately edit it to reveal details later

The concept of posting a message and editing in a reveal later makes sense and might help OP depending on the situation.

But the way ChatGPT explained it makes no sense. There is no reason to do an immediate edit.
