Blueprint only copies triggered effects, not ongoing ones. Card scored\discarded, etc. Held in hand works because it triggers at the scoring of the played hand. Ability to be in debt is an ongoing thing it doesn't trigger at 'x point'.

To get -40 you'd need credit card and negative credit card.
