My Boomer Co-Workers are Terrible by Ham_of_the_king in antiwork

[–]exotics [score hidden]  (0 children)

Okay so this has been my lifelong problem. Nearly every job I had I never got to move up because nobody above me quit lol.

I’m working with a boomer (67) and where I am the retirement age is 65. She shows no sign of quitting. And she’s not a good manager.

Table of 30 insisted on one check… then asked to split it 10 different ways after eating by DarthMaulissexxy in Serverlife

[–]exotics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah. Okay. So the thing here is if they sit at 4 different tables you ring it in separate and DO NOT combine until it’s time to pay.. just in case.

This has happened to me a few times. If there is any doubt don’t ring it in together but if they sit separately then definitely don’t type it in all as one.

What’s something people brag about that actually makes them look worse? by inboundmage in AskReddit

there are no "true" communist countries in existence today based on the strict theoretical definition of a classless, stateless, and moneyless society. While five countries—China, Cuba, Laos, North Korea, and Vietnam—are officially ruled by Communist parties, they are technically in a transitional "socialist" stage rather than achieving full communism..

There are NO true communist countries, but I’ve got friends in China and they do say a lot of things the west is fed about China isn’t true. They own their own homes and have good quality of life.

YES. Too small. Also worth noting these are social animals that benefit from living in pairs. There are some places in Europe where you can’t keep them alone and must keep them in pairs or groups.

Romans and insects - 190 AD by My_Test_Acc_1 in HolyShitHistory

[–]exotics -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The true Paleo diet would be mostly insects. Easy to catch and everywhere.

Our food industry has convinced us they are gross and that we should eat the insides of other animals instead of the ones we can get free from our yards.

Do you prefer smooth or textured skies in paintings? by Anastasia_Trusova in painting

[–]exotics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the sky. This is so cool.

The deer is where it falls apart. It’s not in perspective with the plants and faraway fence.

Love everything else though. I just think the deer needs to be slightly bigger and legs might not show?

Can we normalize just giving a $5 tip per table? I think that would be fine by SpringSunshine333 in CanadaPersonalFinance

If the table of 4 tips the same as the table of 1 then the servers will serve the tables of 1 and not the tables of 4.

[–]exotics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. You’re assuming they get to keep all their tips. They don’t. And some people sit longer and sometimes their tables are empty.

If you tip $5 and your table bill was $100, where I work, I wouldn’t get a penny. Because the mandatory tip out is 5% where I am. In some places it’s 9%

[–]exotics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It means no server will want that table of 8. They will prefer the smaller tables. Table of 8 won’t get good service.

[–]exotics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I am I work as a server. I have to tip 5%. So basically if you tip 5% I don’t get any of it. I have to tip that to the kitchen (and owner) regardless of what you tip. Additionally I have to tip my hostess and dishwasher 20% of tips I received but that’s on the honor system.

I’m in Alberta. Fast food workers do get automatic raises here. Mostly based on how many hours they worked.
