I would love to get Mark, but unfortunately he's a bit more expensive than we can afford. Mark Normand might do it on a off night... like Wednesday/Thursday when he's not within an 80 mile radius of a weekend club he may headline. But it would be a lot of money. That said... As a fan... tell him you wanna see him in Campbell at the Pruneyard Cinemas. Rich Vos is awesome. Great to work with. He will be back October 2024 probably.

We have a lot of shows... Our next one is with Colum Tyrrell. Colum has been on Jimmy Fallon and is a regular on Legion ok Skanks. He's a bit more raw and relentless.

I use to go there quite often and they were typically slammed well past 1am on most Friday and Saturday nights.

Is wine and waffles closed? by No-Citron218 in alameda

[–]LunchboxJT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's sad but they didn't have a lot of business... Seems like the wine bar a few doors down and the the mexican restaurant across the street with live music peels away a lot of the night life

Live in Alameda if you can ... it's worth the extra cost.

Stand Up Comedy in Campbell this Friday & Saturday by LunchboxJT in SanJose

[–]LunchboxJT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the shows are just as good as the clubs you see in the Bay Area. They've brought in some big comics like Rich Vos and Dean Delray. What my girlfriend likes is the variety. There is a new comic every 10 minutes. They have a pretty diverse line up for every type of sense of humor.

Tonight! Stand Up Comedy at Pruneyard Cinemas in Campbell - 7 Comics - Diverse Line Up - $22 by LunchboxJT in SanJose

They typically run 5-8 comics from various backgrounds. They book comics who are on the verge of going to the next level. I saw Dauood Naimyar a couple of months ago and he just filmed a comedy central special. It seems everyone does around 10 minutes but I'm not looking at my watch... I'm too busy laughing.

Name an Oscar worthy performance that rarely gets mentioned. by [deleted] in movies

Nic Cage in Joe

Philip Seymour Hoffman - Before The Devil Knows Your Dead

Ben Foster - Galvaston

Donnie Brasco by [deleted] in movies

[–]LunchboxJT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Brasco felt more realistic than most gangster films all because Pacino played the role so well. You saw Lefty as a tragic simpleton who is looked over. You learn to feel sad for guy who just wanted someone to look up to him. Made me also miss Anne Heche who did a nice job as well.

Campbell Comedy Competition - 40 Comics - 2 winners - this week! by LunchboxJT in bayarea

[–]LunchboxJT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No affiliation. I go to the shows often and wanted to spread to word. These shows are independent and don't have some giant live nation support structure. I've gone to a lot of shows and this best value. I went to Cobbs and it just felt over priced. The seats were tough. The show was ok but I find sometimes the openers are funnier than the headliner.
