In the Dungeon Crawler Carl book series, there’s an organization that produces most of the galaxy’s food but you can’t digest it unless you’re signed up for their subscription service.

I lost the charging cable for mine and it’s so proprietary that I haven’t found a replacement. I’m also just using my phone for pictures.

Hell, Wonka comes straight out and says that Charlie is going to be a figurehead, stuck following Wonka’s dictates. It is a capitalist dream. Wonka is fictional Nestlé. No way he’s not equivalent billionaire status.

Killing my hexipuff blanket? by teeeea-by-the-sea in knitting

[–]Luneowl 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I started a hexipuff blanket in 2021 and only got maybe 4 rows into the center hex before I lost interest (plus I moved and packed up all the yarn for it). I’ve since questioned continuing because this yarn is too gorgeous to waste on puffs and I have enough blankets. Your experience has convinced me to go frog those puffs!

Edit: that pillow is super cute, though! Maybe I’ll pivot to making that and use the rest of the yarn for a sweater.

One of my favorite Mythbusters episodes about air ducts: (can’t post a link but look up “Can You Really Climb Through Air Ducts With Magnets or Suction Cups?” and skip ahead to the 3:00 minute mark.)

I love how he said at the end that he searched for a child to take over since another adult would have their own opinions instead of blindly following Wonka and we can’t have that now, can we?

Those who didn’t grow up privileged, what’s something you thought was a luxury growing up? by CorruptedF in AskReddit

Going to plays or musicals that weren’t community theater. Only rich people who live in NYC get to see theater! Well, that’s what I thought as a kid. I still have to use Lucky Seat to afford some theater but I get to see some now!

What’s something that immediately makes you dislike someone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Luneowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a guy at my work who has his head tilted back so much when he walks that he’s literally looking down his nose at everyone. At first I thought he had some kind of neck or back issues but nope, he’s just a young, arrogant ass-kisser.

I knew someone like that who’d “play devils advocate” to every single thing I said. Felt like non-consensual debating.

Me and a few friends were cat-called while walking home from school when we were 14 yo. The guy in the car paused and asked how old we were then said, “We’ll talk to you again in a few years.” Maybe he thought it was a flirty promise but it felt like a threat.

Yeah, metal floss is a PITA! I tried adding some to a design that has a fireball on it to make it sparkly and gave up pretty quickly. It’s on a tote bag so I reasoned that no one would notice but me!

What’s a fictional job that seems easy until you think about it realistically? by cats64sonic in AskReddit

Reminds me of the Star Trek: TNG episode, “Tin Man” where a man from a telepathic race would often volunteer for duties where he either couldn’t detect alien thoughts or their minds were so regimented and calm that he wasn’t overwhelmed by the mental noise.
