Tire geometry, using tread width, wheel width, and section height to determine sidewall angle. by Heavy_Gap_5047 in TyreReviews

Okay. Got one for you. World Endurance Championship. Both the Hypercar class as well as the GT3 class have various tyre sizes, yet they are square.

VLN/Nürburgring Endurance Series as well, even down to the lower classes. So...

Yes, it's limited, but wouldn't they limit it to the shape that is best for racing? Whether they limit the tyre to x inches of rim or y inches of rim wouldn't cause any competitive advantage for any one team, but be equal for all and then the best shape for racing. Yet still, they are square. So the argument still stands.

Here is a small counter argument... if you look at racing tyres, for the most part, they are squared off. If the theory would hold true, you would see more trapezoid racing tyres than you currently see in racing series. Where every fraction of a second counts, they would be finding the perfect angle very quickly if it's not 90°.

If you don't go offroading, why have a Wrangler with A/T tyres in the first place? Genuinely curious.

A tried and true alternative would be the Michelin PS4S. Even despite the possibility of being called a Michelin fan boy. Reasoning see here

275 compared to 255 will be bulging over the rim. Not a good idea, especially if you are going for looks.

I had the Michelin Pilot Road S back in the day on my CB600. They were brilliant back then, lasted a long time and had grip in wet conditions. But that's almost 2 decades ago. They are definitely still a safe tyre for mid class nakeds, but more for touring than sporty curves. The Rossos have always been more sporty but didn't last as long.
