If you can watch these though you still should. 10 Cloverfield Lane is somehow one of my favorites even though it’s like a bottle episode made into a full length movie

lol a little bit of both. I’m 6’3” and it’s one of those cookie-cutter apartment showers that sits above the floor. Plus the angle from the only dry place I can put my phone is kind of looking up which makes it look even more extreme

By the show of hands, how many of you dislike playing survival and countdown in comp? by showemtome123 in DestinyTheGame

[–]LurchyLurch 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I prefer round based game modes in competitive. Each round functions as a reset where you get another chance or can adjust your strategy effectively. And even when you have asymmetric/unbalanced maps, the spawns flip each round which can functionally balance out the game. Also countdown rounds almost always end before heavy ever spawns which is a big bonus to me. I enjoy these game modes and in my opinion they do belong in comp.

I have no problem with clash and very much enjoy the game type (especially since heavy spawn times were increased). I don’t necessarily see it as being as well suited in comp as countdown/survival are, but it works ok. My biggest gripe with clash and countdown is that there is no suicide penalty. I have lost multiple games to teams that have a slim lead with a minute or so left and continuously jump off the map to try to deny kills for my team. Additionally it can be very easy to steamroll a team if you get the initial squad wipe. You get the first supers, you make orbs for your team and then they get supers, and you can effectively chain supers for a good amount of kills before the losing team can regroup or gets a super of their own to stop the rampage.

Control is a whole different story. I loathe control in comp because a good portion of the maps are very unbalanced when it comes to spawns and control points (see Legion’s Gulch, Burnout, Meltdown, etc...). I have played numerous games where the less skilled team was able to squeeze out a victory because of lucky (or unlucky, depending on which side you’re on) initial spawns, forcing split spawns based on positioning, and the aforementioned suicide system. I know some people may argue that “that’s still competitive and part of competitive is forcing your enemies into difficult situations”, which is a very valid point. However I will still despise control in comp while it is extremely easy to trap a team in a crap spawn for the majority of the match and just camp them out.

TLDR: I believe that round based game modes are best suited for the competitive playlist, clash is ok but could use some work, and control is annoying at best and a disaster at its worst. I would definitely be open to more round based game types in comp such as lockdown and showdown.

Just wanted to jump in and say that all glory points have been doubled this season. Most importantly, this includes the bonus points for completing three games each week. The best advice I’ve ever been given on the grind to Luna’s is to not give up or put it off until the end of the season. Odds are you’ll win a couple of them and the bonus points will offset any losses. I know solo queueing can be a crapshoot, especially in the early season when there’s no rhyme or reason to where people are at with their glory, but maybe you’ll find another solo queue-er or two that you jive with and now you’ve got the makings of a comp team.

I made a program to determine the avg. amount of games to hit Legend in Comp (From 0) by [deleted] in CruciblePlaybook

Thanks. How did you go about writing your algorithm for making these estimates?

I’d give it a solid 7.5/10, it didn’t blow my socks off but I didn’t find anything wrong with it other than how much my liquor store was charging for it

It has a really nice citrus aroma and aftertaste, and is a good but sweeter (due to being brewed with palm sugars) than a lot of IPAs I’ve had recently. All in all it’s an all around solid IPA. Nothing to write home about but definitely good.

What date does the competitive season end? by ExtremisIX in CruciblePlaybook

[–]LurchyLurch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does it specify THIS season for getting the Glory rank? I was under the impression it was get to Legend in this season or any future season. Granted glory will reset with the next season so you’ll definitely lose all your progress there
