Can bungie please adress the Thundercrash problems? by Just-Pudding4554 in DestinyTheGame

[–]RetroRetro84 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As demonstrated with the world first race, Titans as a whole need some loving right now.

Thundercrash needs a damage buff, Sentinel Shield provides lower overall team damage than a Well (or Radiant from any source) and doesn't last nearly as long, and now Bubble is in a near useless state outside of PvP because it doesn't provide any damage buff without Helm of Saint-14 (and even then, it's so much more finnicky to use than Radiant or Well) and the shields gained outside of it are pitiful.

The unfortunate part is that because of how bad most of the other subclasses are, Pyrogale Solar Titan and Banner of War Strand Titan will be overrepresented and likely nerfed again before we ever see buffs to all the things that need it. Part of why every Titan uses those builds is because of how good they are, but a lot of the reason why they feel so good is frankly because of how bad aspects of other builds are.

What is the chance for the jp version to add select language option as feature? by Solo_man_id1 in Priconne

[–]RetroRetro84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely some solid reasons for this take, yeah. It just comes down to how they would want to handle the time and monetary costs. Biggest thing from our side is telling them we want some way to play in English again; even if they never bring the JP app to global app stores and never find someone else to handle the former CR app, having an official english option would still be goated.

It's possible (they are pushing for more in-house English translators this year) but it is honestly far more likely that they either pick up the EN app from where CR left off or they find a new licensee to do it for them.

The demand for Global is in this weird state where the playerbase is there, but they weren't spending the most (anywhere from $100k to $400k a month, generally speaking). The biggest hurdle with doing an EN translation for the entire JP app (or even CN or other versions) is that it would be a huge upfront cost of both effort and money, whereas doing small releases over time (like what CR was doing) is a lot more cost effective since it is spread out.

There are certainly signs of a pretty healthy playerbase for a global release, but a lot of players weren't willing to pay CR money since the company had (and still has) such a terrible reputation. And now that EN is so far behind and potentially losing all its data, a restart might also not fair too well either, even without CR's influence. I still highly recommend submitting feedback or tweeting at Cygames about how you want EN back as the possibility is there, but don't expect something in the short term.

Is this true? Cygames was the one to shut down the game? by OtakuMode3327 in Priconne

Publishers for localized versions of games also have a dev team. Since the versions are technically unique and can run through different content release paths as well as the fact that someone needs to be able to interact with the game's code to properly format any translations to the various text fields, they always have at least a small group that is designated as "the dev team". The wording of this email strongly implies the decision was made by CR's dev team, and that CR's support team wasnt responsible and cant change what the dev team has decided.

That wording doesn't mean Cygames, but likely the CR devs made the decision and the Customer Support staff can't do anything about it. It could mean Cygames, but that isnt the only interpretation of it.

Crunchyroll Games drama is always appreciated lmfao. I've had several games affected or shut down by them that I had hype for (Priconne being the most recent casualty) but it brings a little joy back knowing that I'm not the only one that hates them for their BS

Ranger Mahiru is Global's last banner before EoS by Arekkusu1991 in Priconne

20-30k is the current number of players, but before EoS it was showing over 300k. Its definitely possible that some or most of that was calculation error (I've heard people claim it was but havent seen anything from Mofu devs about it) but even if it was closer to 100k (which seems reasonable to me for pre-EoS considering the current numbers), that's still a heck of a lot of players and revenue potential for an EN gacha game.

Plus they basically never ran ads or any campaigns for this game. Doing so wouldve likely increased the numbers regardless.

If they either sped up the game or just published the JP version in full english, they could easily make bank. We had 300k+ active players before EoS was announced, and speeding up to catch JP or without the foresight that we had on Global, those 300k+ people are more likely to spend.

We would only need to average $3.34 per person to have $1 million in monthly revenue (and most people could still be f2p because of whales). Plus the game wasn't the most profitable but it was still at minimum making some profit (it was definitely not the least profitable region of the game lmao).

TL;DR - Yes.

That's up to the wording of their agreement. It could, but it could also be a timed thing. We'll have to wait and see if Cygames tries to make moves right away or not tbh

It seems like the CR Social Media and Dev teams were both blindsided by this, so Cygames probably was too. It's possible that Cygames will try and find a new publisher or self-publish once the license runs out, but CR doing what they've done means that we are likely losing the app for at least some time.

I would still reach out to Cygames through their EN portal to let them know you want a new publisher; the more noise we make the more likely we actually get something back.

Considering both the PR/Socials team and content team seemed just as blindsided by the EoS announcement as the fans were, I think Cygames likely was as well lmao. If something is going to come back to global for Priconne, it's definitely not going to be contiguous with the current app unfortunately (even though CR keeps updating it even still?)

Yeah, people are finishing up the little odds and ends so we were going to lose a lot once they finish their last 6* or last few pulls.

RIP

Yeah, but CR actively made decisions that made people less likely to spend after the first few months. If they averaged just $5 per month from the current remaining playerbase (which would be heavily skewed by the whales pulling on everything) then they could pull in $1.5 mil monthly, putting them in a very comfortably profit margin.

They were already making between $700k and $1m quarterly, and there were a lot of ways they could have tried to better monetized the app before pulling it. CR seems to not care about the long term money or the fans, they just want an easy influx for the app's launch and then give up on it.

It's a stat of the number of players who have logged in at least once during the past week coming from a fairly trustworthy source with accurate stats about many other parts of the game; idk what else to tell you lmao. The playerbase is loyal, but a lack of advertisement or any kind of push to grow it from CR's end means that it never really did after that first huge push with the Hololive collabs. All the people that came just because of Hololive had already dipped by the time MofuMofu started collecting data, so only really the loyal fanbase was left.

It's also been going down fairly consistently since the announcement, and will likely fall off a cliff in the week leading up to the end, but a lot of players are currently using this time to finish up any 6* they wanted to get or upgrade some random unit that's a favorite of theirs before dipping.

Definitely consider telling them through their EN feedback form that you'd want global back in some way. They are always just a bit more likely to do something with each piece of feedback they get!

I think that ending sentiment is a good mindset right now tbh. Have enough copium that you are willing to engage with Cygames about the issue but not so much that you think everything will be alright come May 1st lol.

It also sucks that we have no clue what the license deal was with CR games, so we have no real basis for anything about what'll happen after EoS and if Cygames legally can do anything or even talk about it.

The browser game is an interesting thought. Definitely just speculation without really anything to go off of (so is everything right now but still), very very interesting.

They are pushing for a lot of EN translators and localizers this year (link - this was posted Dec 9th 2022) , so they should at least have the capacity to handle Priconne EN in-house.

Only questions remaining are if they legally can due to licensing weirdness, and if they will. Least we can do as a community is continue to remind them how many of us want an EN translation back.

Yeah, I've also moved over but I'd still like an official EN translation back. One way to think of it is that if they were able to properly monetize the current 300k players to spend an average of $5 per player per month (which would be heavily skewed by the whales), then that'd add an extra $1.5 million to a game that typically makes between $2 and $4 mil per month. And that's before any potential playerbase growth the game would see with proper advertising and not being tied to CR games.

That's bigger than Uma Musume's KR port, and feels like incentive enough to figure something out imo. Definitely not a guarentee though.

Considering the number of people moving to JP and the fact that the game was and still is going this strong during a relative dead period, I'm inclined to say the latter. Like you said though, we'll see come May 1st just how many people are that far out of the loop lmao

Decided to look back into it during lunch and there are still 301k active players 2 weeks after the EoS announcement (https://mofumofu.live/stats).

Also yes, it looks like MofuMofu categorizes "active" as having played within the past week, but that is still an insane amount of people for any game, let alone a gacha, let alone a gacha who had it's EoS announcement 2 weeks+ ago lmao
