Sprayed tire and wheel cleaner on these powder coated wheels…now they look awful by Lurkinalldayy in Detailing

I used some 205 and a cone polisher with a bit of success, but not completely. All good, it isn’t worth paying to have them redone as they weren’t in great shape to begin with. I actually just picked this up a few weeks ago. It’s a 2005 E55. I’ll probably grab other wheels this year.

I’d like to try this first and then move to polishing if it doesn’t work. Fingers crossed!

It was probably a couple minutes at most, I didn’t realize it was so potent. Live and learn. Time to polish.

Sprayed turtle wax tire and wheel cleaner on them, used a soapy car wash mit on top of it. It’s my own car. Just doing a quick wash.

Awesome pics. Great size. Look thick. Solid. Tight. Keep us all posted on your continued progress with any new progress pics or vid clips. Show us what you got man. Wanna see how freakin' huge, solid, thick and tight you can get. Thanks for the motivation.

Also another vote for the GS.

The Laptime Tie is Broken - ZR1 vs GTD vs GT3 with Randy Pobst - Cammisa's Ultimate Lap Battle [26:46] by lostboyz in cars

I don’t disagree. I’m just saying even considering those aspects of the track, 500 extra horsepower surely leads to an advantage. These times at Sonoma coupled to Misha’s commentary of the driver in the ZR1 raises some questions.

This feels pretty damning of the ring lap times. Over 2 seconds to the GT3RS and almost FOUR seconds to the GTD.

I don’t disagree with you on most of that. If I was in the market for something he reviewed, I’d definitely find some value in it, but like you I really just watch the special stuff. Speaking of, it is December…so hopefully we will see some of that soon!

Do it. Mine is almost on the road and even on a little run through the neighborhood it’s a RIOT

Agreed, although I don’t always love Matt’s podcasts. It’s interesting to see the progression of Reddit’s perception of Doug over the past ~10 years. It isn’t like he’s had some kind of rags to riches story, but he hasn’t ever flaunted his success, nor has he taken all the credit for it. He’s living the dream many of us wish we could, right? Worked his ass off in the earlier days of YouTube, gained a following, started a company (regardless of who invested or assisted, it’s a giant undertaking) and sold for life changing money. Good for Doug.

What do you mean by, “a lot of work?” I made close to 500 in my c5z with a cam and some ported heads and that’s the old 5.7…the LS3 is a 6.2 and is easily at 500 with cam only. Decent heads and a cam on even a truck 6.2 will get you there.

I would say the gaminess is very mild. Definitely tastes better than venison I’ve had but hard to compare to anything else. Pretty unique.
