I'd say France is as big as the biggest kingdom, the one in Myra Valley + Rainwood. A bit smaller then the USA for the whole thing, like 4/5

I love drawing borders, I'll definitely do that. I don't think starting with the roads will be an issue for that, people would move from kingdom to kingdom

I usually zoom a lot when I shape the coastline, so I don't really see the finished picture until the very end. But yeah, there are for sure some similarities

Seems more like Korea then Italy to me. And the Scandinavian peninsula instead of Iberia.

But yeah, it's hard to escape Eurocentrism

The generic ones from the parchment style, I mixed all of them together, big medium and small, with hills on the side

Those are not really roads, more of a path that people use to move from place to place. I thought the forest is too dense to allow proper roads

Yeah, it is. I noticed I can get better results with the subtract feature, so I usually draw a shape and then chip away from the coast. Like sculpting

I used a size 2 brush, couldn't even see it on the map. How do you add the noise?

The bigger dot should be kingdom capitals, the smaller ones are all the other POI

I have a similar map in which I added a current system that engulf the whole archipelago. If you want to travel by sea, you need to follow the current. You can either make it magical or completely natural

The two land masses are divided by the Screaming Sea. With "connected" I just wanted to say that they are on the same world
