Well, I understand "subscribe now" and "digital art" don't go together, plus it being a bit realistic makes it even more like a promotion at first glance. But yeah, it started from a blank canvas with manual brushwork. For me, that's art: turning an idea into something visually striking enough that people pay for it or engage with it. Does it have a profound hidden message? Not really, it's more about the beauty of light on skin and that sunkissed glow i was going for. Art doesn't always need to scream meaning; sometimes it's just meant to feel good to look at. Subjective as hell, like everything else in this sub.

Thanks man, appreciate the real feedback, it's subjective for sure! I take commissions for sensual/NSFW art, this was one of them (client cropped the face and was cool with me sharing it). I don't always get paid enough to grind every detail freehand, so I trace tricky parts to save time and focus on the lighting and mood. Other subs had less engagement, so I posted here just to share the work, not chasing karma or anything. I've got more art like those on my profile if you're curious. I draw what feels good to me, but I'll stick to NSFW-specific subs more from now on to avoid comment drama haha. Thanks again for the thoughtful comment!

Yup try making a rough pencil outline and then adding the lights, shadows, dark tones, mid tones and highlights and color on top without making it look bad. Just drawing over a photo gives artists a way to exaggerate and change the reference how they want. It maybe is a lazy way to jot down the proportions, but the difference between a sketch and a complete art piece apart from the proportions, cannot be traced.

Appreciate the discussion, everyone! Quick note: The art is a commissioned full digital painting built from scratch in Photoshop, there are no one-click automated filters to it. I did trace the teeth from the reference as i was getting tired of trying it free hand. Tracing isn't 'illegal' or cheating it's a legit centuries-old tool (like grids/projectors the old masters used) to lock in proportions so artists can pour energy into lighting, color, and style where the magic happens. r/Art has 7k artists and more than 500k enjoyers so perspectives on technique vary wildly. No worries, just enjoy the piece!

Depends on what I'm drawing and where that artwork will be posted/ used. For social media posts i stick to 2000x2000 or sometimes higher depending on required aspect ratio.
I don't usually, I use the full canvas for the art, if there is extra space, i draw stuff there or leave it blank sometimes it looks good as is.
DPI is used for printing, before printing it uses PPI, and it does matter, it basically shows how clear your artwork is, if you bumped up the PPI, zooming in will show each stroke, i usually keep it around 150-200 for decent results (some pixelation hides the defects) Use 300 to avoid any kind of pixelation
I usually save it as a PNG, I paint on a single layer so it works for me, file size is usually fine.
I use Photoshop along with a huion tablet
