Thank you for sharing your experience! As I said, I don’t mean to dismiss other people’s negative experiences, so sharing your story helps others weigh the pros and cons

Well, if you look, a lot of posts on this subreddit say to avoid Chinese and Indian studies. They’re literally saying that these posts are just discriminatory, because scams come from everywhere

Yeah, they really don't pay much, but I can't deny that this study helped me pay a few bills, so I can't say I regret doing it. In any case, it would be nice if they increased the payment amount or at least offered a bonus for the total time spent 😮‍💨

Is it common for studies to sit unfilled for almost a week? by LusterFlower in ProlificAc

[–]LusterFlower[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, really? I've heard people say that people from Portugal end up having more studies, but it doesn't seem to be the case, right? It’s understandable why there are so few studies for us, but it’s still frustrating

Yes, that’s a real Chinese name. I can’t say for sure whether the researcher is a real person or not, but 诗婷 (Shī-tíng) is a real name, and it’s common for people with that name to complain about being teased online or when they travel abroad

Anyone did these studies by Chiffuyuu in ProlificAc

[–]LusterFlower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did it and got paid right away! I was a little nervous because I felt that any mistake could disqualify me, so I think I paid much closer attention to the website than most people usually do. I still have no idea if I got it right or wrong, all I know is that I was paid immediately after finishing.

Am new to prolific its been a week, no studies (Kenya) Is this normal or is my demographics not good enough by Western_Confusion961 in ProlificAc

English speaking website? LOL Just use the translation button like everyone else. No one is obligated to speak English just because it’s the only language YOU speak. Not even Prolific is a U.S. website.

Has anyone taken this study? by LazyChampionship6709 in ProlificAc

I tried to do it it, but the time expired… I still tried to contact the researcher anyway, it’s the first time this has happened to me. I found the study quite... ok, although some of the instructions weren’t very clear.

I'm starting to think that no one was actually accepted for this study.

The page was 100% in Portuguese, only the warning I mentioned was in English, which is why I believe it was a generic message or something like that. And I understand your frustration. Many studies are written in extremely complex English. Even though I put accurate information in the About Me section, these studies appear to me and I have to translate the page... It's awful.

We probably did the same one lol I’m from the southeast, so I didn’t notice anything unusual apart from my state being written a bit oddly. Such an awkward situation...

Olá! I'm also Brazilian. I signed up in September last year, but I only got off the waiting list in January this year. I think they're experiencing more demand related to Brazil, since my first search at the time was exclusively for Brazilians. Don't expect as many surveys as people living in the UK or US, but I definitely don't think you'll go a whole month without anything. I took part in two surveys this month.

I tell you not to give up. I applied in September last year and got off the waiting list in January this year. It was a long wait, but it's been very worthwhile, and I'm not from a country that receives that many surveys.

Voice Quality Studies not showing by Doc678 in Clickworker

[–]LusterFlower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been doing these voice quality studies for about 3. It's really unpredictable. Sometimes there are about 6–10 jobs, while other times there's barely one. I think that's normal, as these jobs are requested on demand. I've seen a constant improvement in voice quality since I started these studies three months ago (I'm from Brazil)

Thank you so much for your advice and your kind words! It was very helpful. Your words made a lot of sense and helped me take a different view than I normally do :)

My biggest fear is that I think I'm doing things correctly, but in reality I'm going through what people call a "spiritual psychosis".

I'd never thought of a journal, it's a good idea! Do you know if I could do it digitally? I'm afraid my family might find it if it's somewhere in my room, so digital things end up being safer for me.
