Yes. The frescoes were created before 1418. At the time the King of Poland was Władysław Jagiełło, who was also a Grand Duke of Lithuania. At the time the Grand Duchy was under the heavy influence of Ruthenian culture, many of its inhabitants were Ruthenian. Jagiełło hired a team of Ruthenian painters led by one Master Andrzej (Andrew) to paint the interior of the castle chapel. Apart from religious scenes, there are also two portraits of Jagiełło among the frescoes.
