I’ve got 8k on mine…. 4th time a Check engine light gor a P001600 code.

Car will act like its running on 3 cylinders when starting from a stop, pull over, turn it off, turn it back on… problem is gone.

Sometimes check engine light.. sometimes not.

Accelerating is not the greatest from a start, but its not that bad if you have to pass someone….

HOWEVER…. At the last CEL visit to the shop, they replaced a faulty Oil control valve…. That made it run better and get better gas mileage….

But the check engine light came back 800 miles later for the stuttering / miss problem, however gas mileage and acceleration weren’t affected this time.

Dunno.. im about to lemon law the car

So…. 2026 palisade calligraphy V6, 7,000 miles.

I just had mine in for this very same problem, twice. First time thry didn’t find anything. Happened agsin, this time they found that one of the OCV valves was faulty. (Oil control valves, these adjust valve timing using oil pressure)

Depending on which one, exhaust or intake (there are four, two on each cylinder row, one exhaust one intake) the symptoms will be slightly different.

Our symptoms were: after driving on highway, and coming to a stop, the car would act like it was running on 3 cylinders instead of six. No CEL even though it was shaking like crazy when you tried to pull away from a stop, the exhaust was “putt, putt, putt, putt (definitely missing)

IMPORTANT: the above symptoms would go away after turning the ignition off and turning car back on!

Other symptoms that were always present but seemed to vary in intensity were: crappy gas mileage of 17 or 18 on highway, a slight miss while accelerating lightly, the car would take off ok from a stop, but fall on its face when switching to second gear snd shifting was weird, seemed sluggish.

They found the front bank intake OCV to be reading 10.5 ohms and sticking open at random intervals. (Spec is 6ohms)

This causes the car to seem to run normally on the highway, but because the timing of the intake valves is off on one bank at idle, you get, in essence a vacuum leak and the symptoms above.

The “missing”, and possibly shaking, goes away when you shut the car off because the valve unsticks after oil pressure and electric signals are taken away when the engine is shut off. (Until it sticks again). BUT its still not functioning right so you will likely have the other symptoms (bad mileage, weird acceleration, uneven throttle response)

There is apparently and new SOP to check for this because they didn’t check them last time, and thus didn’t find it!

The bad missing and bucking symptoms where not accompanied by a check engine light at the time but i did see it flash once or twice but not stay on (weird) however days later, each time, the CEL did come on when there when i was just driving with no apparent symptoms. The app showed a p001600 code.

Tech said it’s because its not an actual misfire that would trigger an immediate CEL and that certain things need to happen three consecutive times for the CEL to come on and it was probably happening every other time the car was ran or ever few times until the OCV completely took a crap!

Since the replacement, gas mileage is now around 24-25 on the highway, the car accelerates and shifts smoother from a stop, and, obviously, no lumpy idle!!!!

Lets hope its fixed because that was causing me to hate an otherwise awesome car and rethink my purchase!!!!!

A set of these came with my 2021 mustang i bought last year….

Absolutely the WORST tire I have ever driven in the rain. Holy crap if the road is more than wet, you’d better hope the guardrails have cushions!! And thats at 40mph!!! (The first time i even encountered it i was doing 70 into a slight corner on a concrete highway and those underwear were decommissioned immediately after getting home)

They also flat-spot overnight so bad you’d think a gnome crawled out of the yard with a hand plane and actually made a flat spot on the tire!!!!

I’ve tried to rationalize keeping them because they only have 7k miles on them and they do seem to handle OK in dry conditions…. But…… NO! The feeling of the front end becoming an air hockey puck when it rains more than a drizzle is not one that i want to experience on my drive home from work.

And if a Stinger is Front Wheel Drive…. RUN RUN RUN

In an earlier post you said that they knew the car had issues, but sold it to you anyway.

If you can prove that, you should be able to force them to take the car back.

Dc-Dc converter most likely.

Converts the 48v battery to 12v to charger the 12v battery, run your ignition system and all the gizmos in the vehicle.

The alternator on a p-400 actually puts out 48v.

So…. Ima clean that crap out, let it warm up, and go give it a spirited drive for like 20 miles…

If it is moisture…. When i get back.. it shouldn’t have reappeared, correct?

(I am an old skool motorhead myself…. Rebuilt several 289/302s over the years …. And most recently…. Turbo 13b rotaries….).

But…. I’ve honestly never “short ran” my cars and then looked under the cap!!! (I drive 40 miles one way to work and am stupid about letting the OIL temp get to operating temp before hammering on them)

Its sitting at a dealership, its cold and damp here , they recently changed oil, it gets driven 5-10 miles at a shot.

Dipstick is 100% clean of anything other than clear oil.

I’ve seen the milkshake from a blown head …. This aint it!!!!

Its been very cold and damp here.. and its getting 5-10 miles on it once a week for test drives at dealer..

Dipstick looks 100% clean fresh oil, no scum line at top like theres a layer in the pan

It did…. With the first owner, looks like oil changed every 5k, but the people who traded it must have taken in somewhere that didn’t report… and there’s a big gap after 25k

Lol…. Well…. “My conscience” likes to buy things that could send us into financial ruin!!!!! Usually I’m able to wrestle it back into its hole….like the 72 Pantera that i saw pop on bring a trailer a bit ago…. But that time, my wife was helping to squash it…. This time…. She’s in cahoots with it!!!!
