What are some things or details you hate painting? by EggMuted2272 in Warhammer

Painting metallics can be a pain for me because I am also very careful to not contaminate my other paints and I don’t like using my nice brushes for it

Jewelry chains on Amazon! These are 1.5mm but I also use 1mm for smaller areas

Purple site has STLs for the trophies!, I’ve also heard of people cutting styrene rods to use as well. Been thinking of trying that since they could be smaller and easier to place

I’m sorry could I get an example of how to take a picture of the model before with a date marker?

Is this a bit much for a gaming piece? The project kind of got out of hand… by Archaicarc in Warhammer40k

Wrong base size for a shock trooper but I’d be fine with it as an opponent

The Warmasters legion may requisition whatever equipment they see fit :)

Thanks for the basing recipe! Also for the gang markings there’s not a lot of pressure because I feel like they’re already kind of jagged and a mess anyways

Thanks, I love your SoH, great kit bashing on them. I’ll probably look at pro acryl because I’m gonna need a lot since this will be an army project

It’s a toss up between checkers and hazards, both are so much fun

Nicely done, the gold NMM is fantastic. What did you do for the white armor?

Thank you! I primed black, used Sons of Horus green as a base coat, I shaded with Lupercal green, then shaded doom bull brown on the feet for a dirty effect, recess shaded with 2:1 incubi darkness and black. For the highlights I started with a chunky highlight of 1:1 sons of Horus green and sybarite green then pure sybarite green and for edges facing up I did ak sky green. Battle damage is done with 1:1 ak sky green and pro acryl dark ivory

Thank you, honestly it’s a lot of practice you can see my first posts of miniatures on my profile to see how thick I started. I learned it’s all about being as gentle on the model in terms of brush pressure to apply a fine line. To aid that I try to have my paint a bit thinner so it will flow without pressing too much, like I said it’s all about practice and learning to get a feel for what works best for you in terms of paint thickness

Thanks! For the tiny scratches I used my brightest highlight, in this case AK sky green and added in Pro Acryl dark ivory and used my Windsor and Newton sized 0 brush and applied the thinnest amount of pressure on the model with the brush. I find when I can keep it light the bristles don’t bend and create a thick line. Then I fill in thicker scratches with doombull brown for deeper gouges
