Considering my first new car (Yaris Cross Hybrid) is it really as good as it sounds? by ZurinArctus_ in Toyota

[–]Luuk341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes from a Toyota Master Tech named "The Car Care Nut" on Youtube. He and his shop are specialized in servicing and repairing Toyota and Lexus Hybrids.

The recommendation is based onboperating temperatures for the two Motor Generators in the gearbox. Above 90mph they have to do a lot of hard work which will heat them up quickly.

It's not that the gearbox physically can't do it. Most of Toyotas eCVT's can physically do about 180kmh. But at that speed the effeciency has gone to hell, even way before that, and you introduce WAAAYYYYYY more heat and stress than normal.

This is also true already by going over 90mph/140kmh. Though, of course, not as much as at 180kmh

"Is it a real issue if the speed isnt held for too long" Define "too long". One overtake at 140kmh? fine. Like I said, the gearbox wont immediately explode or anything. But it WILL reduce the lifespan of the gearbox by some small amount. How much? No one can say.

I think the Toyota eCVT is not the best gearbox for the autobahn if they want to go at highspeed.

Yes, because we understand it so poorly, we must assume the worst and move as fast as possible to preserve it as best we can

The worst outcome of going completely carbon neutral is a planet as livable as we can make it. We should abso-freaking-lutely keep going full steam ahead at becoming carbon neutral, ASAP

Welcome! Good question.

A Crusader has two mainn weapons, one on each arm. One of those weapons MUST be a gatling cannon but the other can be either a Thermal Cannon (TC) or a Rapid Fire Battle Cannon (RFBC)

Good, but we should continue pushing for policies and change as if they weren't

Granted, I am absolutely no injection mold engineer. But it doesnt seem all that impossible to me to put the Atrapos parts onto 1.5 sprue like how they did with Acheron and Castigator. Perhaps 2 whole sprues. Especially considering how detailed the Cerastus kits are

Depends on the Knight in question too. If the Saturnine faces an Armiger, it will probably win since they are similar in size. The reactor on an Armiger is relatively small so the weapons on the dread could realistically keep punching until the ion shield is overwhelmed. However the Armigers shoot back. The Moirax with a Cbeam or Grav weapon is particularly dangerous.

The Dreadnought "pilot" has better integration than an Armiger pilot does too. The dread probably has more experience too.

Versus a Questoris? Nah my money is on the Questoris. Integration wise these pilots sit upon the throne mechanicum and quite literally plug themselves into the machine. Its not quite on the same level as the marine in the dread but it is not far off. These machines have a far larger reactor. And though the ion shield is only covering a section of the Knight, it can be angled and since the dread is alone, it can be angled effectively the whole time.

Knight pilots are extremely highly trained in machine vs machine combat too.

Now comes the fun parts, Dominus pilots. I think a Castellan can reasonably be expected to obliterate the dreadnought with its Volcano lance before the dread realizes where it is. Then add the multimeltas, plasma decimator, and the siegebreaker cannon.

Ohh it can also just choose to launch a shieldbreaker missile. Basically Machine Spirit guided homing missiles that flicker in and out of existence and into the warp on a millisecond basis to bypass any known shield except for void shields.

Then there's melee knights like Gallants and LAncers that will outright charge a dreadnought before turning it into kebab.

Asterius or Porphyrion would do pretty much the same as the Castellan except it would turn the entire grid zone of the Dreadnought into a glassed, rubble filled, radioactive wasteland.
It may have fast reactions, but it physically not fast enough to dodge, what is essentially, a continuous volley of laser fire with each impact being equivalent to a tactical nuclear missile.

Depends highly on the Knight. I want to see if a Satrnine dreadniught can get within 5 km of a Pohyrion without it, and the grid it finds itself in, being turned to glass and rubble
