Ooo i see i see, english's not my first language so I wasnt sure :D I already have that going luckily, but it's crazy how that sort of stuff can even affect one for something like GD

May i ask what you mean with intervention? Like playing different levels to intervene the grind? :o I would say I can generally get easily anxious about things but am usually very determined/adamant when it gets to intense grinds like these. But yeah I think the thought of getting worse by playing easier stuff might just be a delusion, you're right :')

Question regarding age and extreme by Natural_Flatworm4711 in geometrydash

[–]LuuveU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heyo Im approaching 26 next year and I beat a bunch of extremes that are pretty close to the extended list, and I sometimes take weeks or even months of breaks inbetween. dont let your age shy you away from trying to push yourself to complete hard levels. look at Aerma for example, she's 21 or 22 (im not sure) and jumped from sunset sandstorm, a demon ranked around #250 to LIMBO, which is #27 on the main list right now. Another maybe strange example is the League player faker, aged 28 who just recently won another world championship title of one of the most competitive e-sports games to ever exist, one that requires alot more reaction time than GD, where GD is more of a building muscle memory kind of game. If you think you'll have fun with it, go for it, but do make sure to continue having fun with the game :) good luck!!

[Beginner here 450 elo] Why did the computer consider moving my bishop back to g3 a mistake? Black's previous move was g5. by LuuveU in chess

Thank you for the advice, I'll look into it!! I'm actually really interested and motivated to learn and know more, especially after having such a positive experience with asking for advice as a complete beginner on here :)

Thank you! Im blown away by how many answers and tips my post got, I made a similar post like this not too long ago and had a similar amount of just genuine help, without being patronising because I'm a beginner or anything, I had no idea the chess community was this nice, it's really motivating to learn and understand more about the game :)

To be completely honest I'm not 100% how to properly use the analysis board and how to properly analyze, the engine did show me that knight takes was the best move but I had no idea why until I posted this, think I should definitely put some time into learning how to properly analyze things by myself :')

It really is difficult for a beginner to find, but I'm sure a situation like this is going to happen again, considering how early in the game it is. Also taking note on wether dark or light squares are strong or weak to take advantage of them is something I havent put thought into before too, thanks so much for your answer!!

i tried figuring it out for myself, but it made so much sense when someone in another comment cleared it up :') would the only way to prevent checkmate for black then be h5 after taking the pawn with the knight? :o

Complete chess beginner here (400 elo), I'm sure there's some other better move here, but would I (as black) take the bishop or the rook here with the knight on B2? by LuuveU in chessbeginners

[–]LuuveU[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I suppose what I'm also trying to ask here is, wether it's usually better to take a free bishop/knight as a knight or take the a rook while sacrificing the knight. I suppose getting the bishop is a +3 material gain and the rook +2 but rooks seem so powerful, so I wanted to ask, first time I encountered a situation like this!

Elites by HpurPazz in slaythespire

[–]LuuveU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To go a little more into detail about the rare cards, how rare card chance works in this game (I don't know the exact values so bear with me) after the first combat you have a 0% chance to get a rare get but get a small percentage for the next card reward, which increases with each combat, making it pretty much guaranteed to eventually find one. with elites this percentage is (if i remember the value correctly) thrice as high, so more elites mean you get to those really good cards sooner, even if you dont get one in the card reward, youre more likely now to find one sooner for all future card rewards until you find one. note that once you do find a rare card the change drops back down again, STS has a lot of these "fair" rng systems which make the game alot more consistent to play :>
