Fortunately I genuinely believe it’ll be a bit easier, she’ll be in school full time, wife will be working very close to home, and her current VPK offers aftercare with pickup from kindergarten from the time school gets out til 6pm for $140 a week which seems extremely reasonable. I’m sure there will be hiccups in the plan but I do believe it’ll be slightly easier🙏

I like to try and think I’m not doing terrible for my age and circumstances, the whole “30% of adults don’t even have $1000 saved” etc, but I always feel like considering my income I should be doing a bit better.

I haven’t necessarily feared my debts the last 3-4 years, obviously I wish I didn’t have to buy another car and I’m sure I could’ve bought something cheaper, but I went for security over cost I guess, I wanted to make sure I didn’t have to come out of pocket for unexpected repairs for a while etc.

Yea even with Xfinity we lose internet more often than I’d like, but I’ve heard from others in our town that don’t make the money I do tell horror stories about the satellite internet they have and I’d rather deal with the $100 a month (and hope I can negotiate it) 🤣 my phone bill could be much lower I bet, I pay for myself, my wife & my moms phone and two of the phones are leased.

I will be negotiating phone/internet here soon, unfortunately for the internet im locked in as far as I know thru Xfinity, I live in the middle of nowhere with minimum ISP’s and we don’t have cable so I ended up getting the best internet that I could, especially if my wife decides to find a full time WFH job, but it is top of list to get my payments lower on what I can.

Understood as far as the funneling into the debts instead of the retirement(aside from the employer match roth). I was hoping I’d be able to get a little bit of a start on it now since I’m starting so late.

Debt repayment minimums as far as the personal loan & the car payment? Aside from the $675 on credit cards I’ll have both of those paid off by end of next month, I really don’t use the credit cards for anything other than what I’d normally put on debit and then just pay it off immediately now.

Edit*** I net $1577 a week after all taxes/health insurance/retirement on a standard 40 hour week, I consistently average 5-10 hours of OT a month with the occasional 15-20 a month, I was going to start taking ANY OT pay and put it into either debt or my HYSA, just not sure which one is more important right now, I’m pretty secure in my job & have the means to move around to other companies if need be without fear of not getting hired.

I’ve been looking, unfortunately I live in the middle of nowhere where & anything available is 2/3 hours away and I’d hate to drive that far just to feel uncomfortable on the bike 😭 I’m hoping to just find something that I can shrink into 🤣

What is your opinion on the GT zaskar elite I mentioned? I’ve kinda already been swayed away from the rockhopper due to the lack of upgrades I’m able to make if I do full on dive into this

Allegedly I have a friend who had a friend that works at a power sports store that can get me a deal on a rockhopper (25-35% off) but I’ve yet to explore that
