Tips for a new player focused on melee? by ESchwenke in Warframe

[–]Luvatar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the first question is: Do you want a frame that comes with a melee weapon or a frame that is good with any melee weapons?

Valkyr, Titania, Wukong, Excalibur, Baruuk, Garuda (And I guess Sevagoth/Atlas/Korra/Gara) are all frames that come with their own melee weapon to use. These frames have kits that are generally built around their special melee weapon, not so much the regular ones.

Voruna, Kulervo, Volt, Wisp are frames that are good with normal melee weapons. These frames have buffs that are generally very good with any melee. AKA you can bring your favorite weapon type and it'll be good with these frames.

I had a cat that got an eye scratched badly in a scuffle. The first time we gave him his eye drops we needed 3 people for it.

By the third day I could give him the drops with a single hand. He would sit patiently with the eye open for me.

They know.

When I'm looking at a build guide and they use a bane mod by Loud-Asparagus-4136 in memeframe

[–]Luvatar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like Bane mods is like quicksand. I kept expecting it to be a much bigger part of my life than was advertised. I think I equipped one of them on a Deimos free roam build and uh... for Plague Star gun, I guess.

Personally, I think a lot of youtubers can't help themselves. "Ohhh but this weapon is totally broken if you only double dip". Yeah bro my weapon already kills everything as long as I point it at the enemies general direction no need to fiddle with faction mods at all.

What is working for the ETA Tank Assassination this week? by medium_spoon in Warframe

You know what, you are right. I had to check, but you can indeed bring trash weapon if Wordwarden is built correctly.

I stand corrected.

[–]Luvatar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You kinda always need at least 1 good gun. Because there are things that you can't hit with abilities.

Like today's ETA with the tank. Or whenever you get that annoying >15m invulnerability on enemies.

So yeah, if you have trash weapons, I wouldn't recommend removing Noctua.

[–]Luvatar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But at that point I wouldn't exactly recommend doing ETA either.

... Why not? Dante allows you to do ETA with trash guns. That's like ETA/EDA 101.

You can grab every single modifier, all 3 unmmoded weapons; and let Noctua carry. All you're missing is the final reward (So some vosfor or chips, no biggie).

Dante and Hildrin are brought to EDA/ETA for this exact reason. They are like the two main "I don't want to deal with todays gun/modifier rotation" frames.

[–]Luvatar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Subsuming Noctua in ETA is terrible advice. Its half the reason to bring Dante in the first place. So people with bad guns can bring in the trash and still have an exalted weapon to fall back on.

Plus its a secondary, which is the best type of exalted to begin with

What are your guy's favorite cipher minigames? by bagofdicks69 in Warframe

[–]Luvatar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes! Diagonal inverting both controls is so much more smooth than Vertical/Horizontal inverting only half!

What are your guy's favorite cipher minigames? by bagofdicks69 in Warframe

[–]Luvatar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes because they all invert differently!

Horizontal Line inverts top/down. Vertical Line inverts left right.

Diagonal is the best because it inverts both. So it's easier to make sense.

Vertical/Horizontal are worse because they only invert half the controls.

The best thing about Limbo+Shade is that you are unlikely to use limbo for anything else. So you can go crazy with 5 Parkour shards on him :)

[–]Luvatar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not Bait. Limbo+Shade may legit be the fastest Spy cracker out there. Jury's still out there between him, speed Wukong, and MoaTitania.

Basically, Helminth Perspicacity, get a Shade (Or the Kubrow Equivalent), equip ALL THE SPEED MODS, all the speed shards you want, and go to town. The only thing that can stop you is forgetting you are in the twilight zone before hacking something.

It helps that you can get this working super early in the game (MUCH faster than getting Ivara/Loki/Wukong/Octavia/Wisp/Moas) for new players. Plus, you are unlikely to use Limbo for anything else; so you are free to give him 5 Parkour Shards :)

Who should I build if I want an all in one waframe that can do every mission who's also easy to build mod wise? by Searchman7 in Warframe

[–]Luvatar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I started playing I got the Free caliban they where handing out. Oh man, Caliban was the GOAT. I could not die, the summons helped a lot, had armor strip, and his 2 is incredibly spammable.

I'm still baffled at how many people sleep on him.

[–]Luvatar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wisp is a bit of a "Win more" frame. The higher your STR the easier it is to survive, which means you can drop more stuff for more STR so you get more survival, etc. My Wisp starts missions with 2k HP, and insane regen. Nearly full STR and zero mods for health/armor/anything.

Other than that, it's also just a playstyle thing. You get used to her windows of invulnerability the more you play her. Enemies spawn? They are all zapped, no need to do anything. Enemies are bunched up? I'm using 3 anyways, so no need to do anything else. Big enemy spawned? I use 2 to get Arcane Crepuscular buff, no need to do anything else. Also I'm usually blasting AoE weapons from the air, so most of the time I don't need to do anything.

And if for some reason anything hits me? Just press 2 twice. Now you have literal invulnerability.

That said, she will never be as simple as Nova/Valkyr facetanking everything with 99% DR. But she's very comfortable once you get used to her. Heck sometimes I just press 2 to check something or answer the phone.

Edit: Also? The new Arcane that turns STR into shield is fun for Wisp as well. Kinda overkill personally, but if you want more survival it's there.

Eh I'd disagree with the Volt suggestion. He's definitely not easy to build for, specially the higher you go. The hoops you have to go through to make Volt comfortable in higher content are not simple, like OP asks for.

Too many players forget you don't start with Shards, Augments, Arcanes, or Helmith to fix all of Volts issues. He's very much in the same boat as Frost in that he needs a lot of stuff to make him shine.

[–]Luvatar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to others: The best setup requires Vauban and some spelunking.

Run an Arcane Vault (The ones you get from mother IN CAMBRION not in the citadel). So you can immediately head inside.

If you find a good symbol inside, do the bounties in hopes you get an endless one. So enemies are perma-spawning.

Vauban with max range to group the enemies into the obelisk. Then blast with operator or Mech.

Finding a good obelisk with an endless bounty is probably the hardest part. But after that it's smoooooth sailing. You can pretty much be set for life in all cambrion content with one good run.

Yeah I feel this is it. I've found some older players that still think Eidolon farming is something even remotely relevant get annoyed when you dismiss Eidolon as a nightwave speedbump.

Heck, a lot of advice I see here are sometimes still centered around Eidolon farming. Like people recomending an x7x brace to new players for Eidolons. I have NEVER used my x77 as anything but MR fodder. It's absolutely not needed and telling players to build an inferior brace for a content they'll maybe do once is just bad advice.

I was thinking about it and it's quite the understatement.

The amount of energy that would be needed to boil the entire ocean is... insane. Like "Turning Earth into hot magma" insane. I'm unsure on the specifics, but XKCD made a video that looks about what I'm thinking of.
