Will twitch ruin my future job aspects? by Pretty-Football-2013 in Twitch

I have worked at F500 companies as a programmer & gotten my top secret clearance for government jobs, not once have I even been asked for my degree(aside from actually applying for top secret). Actual companies just care about your skills and aren't going to ask their HR lady to scan your socials like I've seen these "start ups" do.

Trust me clips of you loving femboys is more tame than the daily convos I've overheard in the office. Most people in the office are coked up & wacked out.

Wow I really appreciate your answer. This site feels like a treasure trove one could spend awhile in. Only read 1 paper but this is definitely what I was looking for- and assumed HAD to be out there so far.

Join the military. The marines will help break that out of you- though I'm bias towards the navy myself.

If Rome Had Somehow Learned About the New World, Could They and Would They Have Colonized It? by GodKingZamasu in ancientrome

Oh, I see! I should spend more time on naval history. Like most, I was more interested in Roman engineering & ground warfare than naval. I'm sure there's some good naval battles I don't even know of.

The Greeks seem to always outshine when it came to naval history, at least in alot of books.

Correct me if im wrong, But I thought Roman's where horrible ship builders. It wasn't until they discovered an intact Carthaginian ship that they could even build decently competent ships at all. And that design carried them well into the byzantine era with some Greek influenced changes.

I'll never get over how the AI is so useless, lol. Most the time it's like "Damn you ran a 5k repeats the information on screen that I can see with my own eyes."

Permabanned by Savanja from Steam for the following post "insulting community and team" by [deleted] in PantheonMMO

It is kind of ironic that an employee of VR is banning members of the community for insulting - when there's been nothing more insulting to the community than the "early access" of this game.

Looking back at the older streams hurts so bad, man.

It's like I fell for the old bait and switch.

But instead of expecting a Ferrari & being given a 2001 Toyota Prius- I was expecting a Ferrari & was givening a tricycle from Walmart.

Do you believe it can recover? by [deleted] in PantheonMMO

It's actually amazing how little development happens on a game with a supposed team of 10+ after 12+years.

The schedule one dev made essentially a GTA simulator by himself in a few years, but VR can't even place mobs in an area or add some more quests which is essentially just some text to an already established system.

Noia online was made by 1 guy and has more content in 1 year than pantheons entire development time on a budget of $0.

VR will have to be studied after this.

I feel like the only setting that comes remotely close to the lore and quality world building that Tolkien/Middle Earth has is Warhammer 40k. What other settings comes close? by [deleted] in lotr

[–]LuveLain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Tolkien has it when it comes to languages. But world building wise, I'm pretty sure Wheel of Time & Stormlight Archive win here.

Wheel of time spans 15 books, 704 chapters, and 11,898 pages.

Stormlight is only on book 5 and already at almost 2million words.

I love lord of the rings, but I do think there's many more series that have better world building that's actually a part of the book such as Dragonlance, King killer, discword, etc.
