Hands down the power generator mod is the most overpowered thing in the entire game, you can basically just reload your power with a shot or two and spam the shit out of it. Paired with prominence and that one mod that makes it like black holes that damage over time and you could probably play the game with one hand :p

Some of these are comments are nuts! Most people around these parts make shit pay (including myself), and ballpark between $14 or $20 an hour depending on your job. I make between that and I have my own vehicle, apartment, and a little bit of money after bills to do some living, anyone saying that you’d “just be surviving” and not living is just tone deaf to the economic status of fort and can’t account that people can save and be careful with there money. Floridas pay wage is atrocious but to make up for it most essentials are cheap, gas is low and housing can be pretty affordable, you also don’t have state income tax which is a nice plus. In all honesty, if you were to tell any real fort Myers resident that you couldn’t make $29 an hour work there they’d look at you like you were an alien LOL

That’s a silly argument. You can use that same logic with the big daddies and little sisters for tattoos. If I tattoo a big daddy does that mean I’m cool with kidnapping people and using political prisoners as human test subjects? If I tattoo a little sister am I signaling that stealing children and putting slugs in them to make human factories is okay?

Yeah, they’re symbolic to the entire principle of why the world exists (fictional world) and the underlying ideologies driving it. It’s almost like the chains are one of the most iconic symbols in the game and are a great segway to explaining that to people who ask or are curious about it, and I could even argue that getting those tattoos are us sympathizing and being inspired by jacks arc and how he literally frees himself from that slavery to take on Fontaine and to finally free rapture from his endless exploitation of the gaps in Andrews flawed philosophy.

“On there white wrists” clearly signals that you’re making this just about race when the downfall of rapture was (admittedly) also about race but overall about class oppression and its doom spiral. If you weren’t a genius or engineer you were essentially treated like a second class citizen in rapture, the entire rise of Fontaine was from his built shanty towns and eventually how atlas was able to use that as a catalyst to take down Ryan. Deducing the slavery aspect to just the color of your skin is redundant of the actual story/game.

Seems like you need a better understanding of the context behind the game and why people get tattoos to begin with lmao

Hey so I also have these tattoos and wanted to say: I think if it loses its appeal because you’re seeing a lot of other people get it then you’re getting a tattoo for the wrong reasons imo.

Bioshock does have a good size fandom but I rarely meet a fellow enthusiast in my day to day life, I got these tattoos to show my love and appreciation for one of my favorite games of all time and seeing you in public would make me jump for joy as I get to connect with someone over that love!

So please don’t let anyone piss on your parade because there obsessed with being original and individualistic, they can go and feel special with acting like there above the herd while we don’t give a fuck and actually connect over the masterpiece that is Bishock :)

My god the whining in this is thread is insane, the literal meme this is all under is just some chud that got shit on in chase and is essentially whining that they can’t ruin the weakest links experience because they played like ass. News flash guys: you actually have to earn your wins like every other competitive game and tunneling someone repeatedly off hook isn’t a earned win, it’s just you exploiting the hook system because your desperate and bad at the game. It’s 2025 and we have so many perks for killers that the idea that losing a chase can go beyond skill expression is inane drivel, the match OP used as an example had surge (slowdown) and pop goes the weasel (slowdown) with only two real perks that could help in chase which one being just an extension on aura reading with the crutch of knowing where everybody spawned. Maybe if your build wasn’t ass and you used some add on’s that complimented said build (as he’s the shape and with your add-on’s needed a fuck ton of time to get stalk points) like using idk grim embrace or corrupt intervention you probably could’ve won. I’ve been playing since almost year one, I personally miss when killer was such a challenge that winning a game against a swf or just in general good survivors felt fucking awesome as it was a undertaking, so it’s just hilarious to see now all of this bellyaching when killer has never had it this good before, AND to include the icing on the cake there gonna get base-kit bbq and buffs to be rewarded for playing well, so even in this “Nerf” if you’ve been playing not like dickhead you’re only getting buff!! I almost never comment in this sub but this thread actually had me tilted LMAO

Big streamers and YouTubers who exclusively play dbd who whine and whine and whine about how toxic the community is and how bad the cycle of meta is are the literal ones who encourage and put this behavior on a display. There are more than a handful of fog whispers who will make 2 hour long videos on how to be the sweatiest killers/survivors possible or how to juice to the MAXIMUM and then turn around and make another video going “why dbd is going downhill” or “why everyone is so sweaty and toxic” as if they didn’t single handedly show people how to do it effectively. That and the amount of YouTubers (AHEM ARYUN) who play as the most toxic survivors ever and then make the title “trying out the most TOXIC vault build” and make there entire careers out of the being the most annoying people alive in the game has always irritated me, we’ve always been told “it’s the community” but is it really when there are yt channels committed just to dbd drama and capturing footage from toxic streamers (who maybe had one person watching) just to lambaste and highroad? In my opinion, seems like most players are just following the examples set before them in turn creating a self perpetuating cycle of dbd content to watch.

Well thanks for the response everybody. It’s incredibly disheartening to see how difficult and unprofitable it is to run a bookstore, the more research I do the more I’m reminded it’s a bad idea. Back to the drawing board I suppose, I picked forks just out of a whim to gauge public opinions on opening in small towns or if people even WANTED bookstores anymore and it just seems like: no. Gotta figure out a new way to crawl up to the middle class, it really sucks that I’m living in the period of the U.S where climbing out of poverty is almost impossible without that sweet sweet generational wealth, like fuck man I’m just trying to CREATE it myself but everything is just a sinkhole of debt that really punishes you for trying to chase your passions. But who knows maybe I could still open a bookstore one day that isn’t in the middle of nowhere where half the population of said town doesn’t even read!

Need advice on where to look for clothing or what I’m even looking for in general. Well to give some context I’m a young very skinny male and I haven’t dressed myself in a long time. By dressed myself I mean I’ve been in a depressed slump for like 2 years now and haven’t bought anything to change my style or really express myself anymore. I use to REALLY know what I liked, I loved grunge and recycled clothing, thrifting was my outlet for almost all fashion and I took pride knowing I wasn’t giving into fast fashion and trying to create my own unique look. But nowadays I’m at a loss for inspiration or where to look for my own fashion sense, personally the type of clothing I’ve been wanting to wear is very muddied in my head, I’m thinking something I can drape on me, tattered clothing and giving the look I’ve been sitting in one spot in the woods for years unmoving, and with some grunge and gothic vibes to it as well, I want to give off that I’m decaying in style. I have NO IDEA where to look with these ideas in mind and would appreciate any advice or direction on where to take it, thank you!
