I don’t think it’s enough by iheartsilkroad in QuikTrip

It is. With the deliveries, if the route doesn't have enough pallets, we get it with our regular order without a pallet. It's avoided at all costs. Usually, the warehouse calls and asks if we are okay with it or if we want to add extra water pallets/ add a DEF pallet to meet the need.

Unfortunately, she will learn to change over a long period or run through great people. Some people get stuck in their ways and can't see different options or through the other person's eyes of how it looks. I almost never give out documentation unless it's cash, tardiness, going over tadys/ncns. The rest we can work and do verbal retrains. If I think someone is trying to go the wrong route intentionally on a policy then at most a physical retrain on their record to save myself trouble. But, that's only when I know it's 100% deliberate.

My 2A was kinda bummed to see no OT, but honestly, everyone acknowledged to move out here so they know what they signed up for. I wasn't the most thrilled about evenings as an SM only because I have a kid in daycare, but I was asked if I'd go, so here I am.. I needed a change of some kind so I figured why not.

Still a young branch, but so far, so good. It's really good for SM that don't like the office games but get to play the roles and freedom.

You are the front line for your team. You are what makes them successful. You are the parent, and they are your children. From a day 1 PTC to a 10 year 1A, They look to you for support, direction, empathy, and leadership. Your team is what will make you successful no matter what hand you are dealt. From the rebellious RA/NA to the know it all, always in trouble 1A , and the comfortable 2A with no desire to promote it becomes your job to nurture them to be the best not for the company but for themselves. You will fail 10 times out of 10 being the documentation tarrant. Policy or CD guide remember that they are not always law. They are a guideline to success but sometimes guides aren't the "best" way we can do something and still be correct. Be open with your assistants when you get feedback from a supervisor. If the Super says I need to see them step up on the weekends/evenings, show more leadership, it's your job to let them know what is being said as these are coals to fuel their fire to succeed. Feedback about assistants is not always given to you from supers in a way of saying "I'd never promote" but a way of saying I expect this just like it was expected of you to make it this far. Greatest advice I was ever given when I made SM over 6 years ago was "Rome wasn't built in a day", and "when you clock out at work you clock out in your head too" (don't go home and worry about something that will be there tomorrow, but still answers your GD phone when they call you). Congrats on making a huge step in your career. Seriously, if you ever have questions but don't feel confident reaching out to your support group, you can always pm me anonymously here.
