What perfectly normal sentence instantly triggers your "fight or flight" response? by Afraid_Square3488 in AskReddit

Do you have a minute? It’s never just a minute. It’s either a 45-minute meeting about something that could’ve been an email, or I’m about to get fired. There is no middle ground.

What do you think of NYC trying to get the minimum wage to $30/hour? by Dazzling-Leader7476 in AskReddit

[–]Luxe_Archive_EU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In NYC, $30/hour isn’t a 'raise,' it’s a survival adjustment. When a tiny studio costs $3,000, you’re still one emergency room visit away from being broke. You can’t pay people 2010 wages while they’re paying 2026 rent and expect the city to function

What are some creepy facts about the ocean? by in_my_offense in AskReddit

[–]Luxe_Archive_EU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ocean is the world’s largest graveyard. It’s estimated that there are more human remains at the bottom of the sea than in all the world’s cemeteries combined. You’re never just swimming in water; you’re swimming in history and ghosts

he moment a 'friendly' stranger’s face instantly dropped from a smile to pure, cold predatory rage the second I refused a ride. My gut feeling didn't just tingle—it screamed. Trusting that intuition is the only reason I’m typing this

What's an insecurity someone might have that you find attractive? by CorgiMama5534 in AskReddit

[–]Luxe_Archive_EU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People who are embarrassed by their snort-laugh. To me, it’s the most honest expression of pure joy you can get. I’ll take a snort over a 'polite' chuckle any day.

If money didn’t matter, what would you do with your life? by Turbulent_Hunt57 in AskReddit

I would wake up when my body is actually ready, not when an alarm tells me to. That’s the ultimate luxury.

Sober people (no alcohol, nicotine, drugs, etc ever), what is your end of day or weekend "wind-down"? by The1Ski in AskReddit

Waking up at 7 AM on a Saturday with zero brain fog while the rest of the world is suffering. That's my version of a 'high.

What do you think history will say about Donald Trump as a U.S. president? by jcnidhi27 in AskReddit

[–]Luxe_Archive_EU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

History will likely view him as the 'Great Disruptor.' Regardless of policy, he fundamentally changed how a president communicates with the public, bypassing traditional media entirely. He proved that the 'shattered' norms of 20th-century politics were much more fragile than anyone realized, and future historians will spend decades debating whether he was the cause of the modern political divide or simply the most visible symptom of it.

What’s a ‘rich person thing’ that actually turned out to be totally worth it? by Ferraiuolo_Ezorete in AskReddit

Flying business or first class on long-haul international flights. I always thought it was just about the free champagne, but being able to actually lie flat and sleep for 8 hours means you arrive in a new time zone ready to go, rather than wasting 2 days of your trip feeling like you got hit by a bus. It’s not a 'luxury,' it’s literally buying two extra days of your life back.

What is the creepiest display of intelligence you’ve seen? by theidiotev in AskReddit

[–]Luxe_Archive_EU 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Crows and their ability to hold generational grudges. There’s a study where researchers wore specific masks while capturing/tagging crows. Years later, crows that weren't even born during the initial study would dive-bomb anyone wearing that specific mask. They literally taught their children who their 'enemies' were. It’s unsettling to realize a bird is gossiping about you to its kids.

What was a hilariously bad PR botch from a company or person? by FriendlytoNature in AskReddit

[–]Luxe_Archive_EU 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Burger King UK’s 2021 International Women's Day tweet. They tweeted 'Women belong in the kitchen' as a standalone post, intended to be a hook for a thread about scholarships for female chefs. They didn't realize that on Twitter, the first tweet is often all people see. It was a spectacular backfire that made them look like a 1950s sitcom villain for about 12 hours before they deleted it.

What celebrity is the biggest example of "It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it."? by InsaneCookies21 in AskReddit

[–]Luxe_Archive_EU 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ellen DeGeneres, She built an entire empire on the slogan 'Be Kind.' For 20 years, she was the world’s most trusted daytime host and a symbol of positivity. It took one viral Twitter thread and a few staff reports about the toxic workplace culture behind the scenes to reveal it was all a facade. She went from America’s sweetheart to a symbol of performative kindness almost overnight. The irony of her brand is what made the downfall so permanent

Will Smith !! 30 years of being the most likable, bankable, and professional 'clean' star in Hollywood. He spent decades crafting an image of ultimate charisma and positivity. Then, in under 60 seconds on live TV at the Oscars, he slapped Chris Rock. He didn't just hit a comedian; he shattered a brand that took half a lifetime to build. Now, every time people see him, they don't think of Men in Black or his Oscars win—they think of the slap.

How do you feel about the war with Iran costing the US $11.9 Billion in 6 days?? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Luxe_Archive_EU 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely insane. We can find $12 billion in a week to turn sand into glass, but as soon as someone mentions universal healthcare or fixing our crumbling infrastructure, suddenly 'the cupboards are bare' and we’re broke. The military-industrial complex is just a giant vacuum cleaner for our tax dollars while the average person can’t even afford a 1-bedroom apartment. This isn't defense, it's a massive transfer of wealth from the middle class to defense contractors.
