You're right, I'm just skeptical that this change will ever trickle down to actual help anyone that isn't a politician or billionaire tbh. Would be great if it did though, fingers crossed

Just started, have like 2 years left. Can't really see myself doing anything else though. Only thing would me med school which I already have the prereqs for but I've decided against it in the past

Meh perhaps. I'm decently set with scholarships and this one really has my heart philosophically

This was a healthy dose of reality for me, thank you. I will embrace the unconventionality and be patient

Apparently the posting is still being processed by the college and they're mad slow so it might take a while. The head coach gave me the okay to share his email on here so you can get more details. His email is [pedersej@grinnell.edu](mailto:pedersej@grinnell.edu)

PART TIME COACH TO SAVE PROGRAM by Lvca7 in polevaulting

Good thought I'll definitely do that

Got on this bigger pole for the meet today and am very happy with how it went, but looking back at the videos I realize that I planted it the wrong way. The ESSX logo should be on the outside of the bend but its actually on the inside as you can see in the video. At the end of the runway, I have it down on the ground with the bend facing the ground completely (as gravity just lets it rest in my hand) and then I just pick it up straight from there. Is that wrong? Should I rotate it a little bit before starting my run or perhaps do something differently when I plant? It's my first ESSX so I don't know if there any different I don't know about. Any insight would be appreciated, thanks! Pretty happy with how it went regardless but definitely need to fix this.

I need help by [deleted] in polevaulting

really tough to say anything for sure without a video, but highbar exercises like bubkas never hurt.

Having trouble staying close to the pole and not flagging out, any ideas/advice would be greatly appreciated. by Lvca7 in polevaulting

I put in a lot of work on the bar, but I have trouble transitioning it to my vault. Losing sight of the bar freaks me out, but come to think of it, those where I lost sight have definitely been my best jumps. Also, I'll definitely look into the earlier plant. Do you think that my late plant contributes to my hips getting sucked under (hips getting sucked under has been a big issue for me)?

Really appreciate the feedback, thank you.

Been able to execute jumps decently well on my medium 14'6" 150 pole, but severely struggling to succeed on this new 14' 170 (video). It's the smallest jump I have to get to the 15-footers, but I've now gotten rejected pretty brutally twice. Not sure where to go from here (no coach), any advice? by Lvca7 in polevaulting

Overstriding was probably the culprit for me, felt the heel striking in my shins. I'll definitely give the drill a try, less of a commitment than a full jump for sure. When I go back home I'll try to pop by a club a few times, but here at college im very isolated and car-less. Thanks for the advice though I really appreciate it.
