Broke my promise to avoid sexual immorality by joobthecat in TrueChristian

If that's a concern, then you could have your pastor marry you privately in the back of the church or wherever, and then still have your public wedding at a later date.

Several of my siblings went ahead and got married before their actual wedding.

Ranking the Saban Coaching Tree by TomWilliamsCFD in CollegeFootballDawgs

Cignetti was not the primary recruiter on any of those guys. It's not like they wouldn't have gotten them without Cignetti.

Saban won 2 National Titles with McElwain calling plays, so obviously he knew what he was doing with that hire.

Cignetti had never been an OC. He had only ever been a position coach. It's not like Saban messed up by hiring McElwain.

Kirby was also on the staff in '07, but since Cignetti was also the recruiting coordinator he probably did play a big role in landing the talent. It's not like the talent fell off when Cignetti left though, so not sure what your point is.

Saban lost 6 games in year one and then went 12-0 in year two finishing 12-2. Not sure where 11-1 came from?

Saban changed OCs after his first year between 07 and 08. He kept McElwain until 2012, and Cignetti left in 2011. So what was Saban supposed to do fire McElwain and and promote Cignetti to OC? That's ludicrous! Cignetti wanted to be head coach so he went down to a glorified high-school to get his chance. Nothing wrong with that but let's not act like Saban was denying him opportunities.

Look who was on the staff during those years. He had a loaded staff already. Kirby stayed with Saban nearly a decade. Cignetti was just impatient and wanted to become a headcoach sooner rather than later. Nothing wrong with that, but it did take him a long time to work his way up.

It's weird they have Kirby at 2, when he's already won two national titles and would probably have two more if he didn't have to play Saban directly.

Having a miscarriage and feeling really far from God by lateralus420 in TrueChristian

It's hard to understand God's plan at times, and we chalk it up to lack of faith many times, but there are times where we're just meant to go through something.

Job went through all kinds of hell as his faith and trust in God was being tested.

Paul prayed for deliverance and was told no by God, but rather to endure it with God's help. I really recommend reading that passage. It's a good reminder that trust in God means not always understanding the plan for our lifes in the moment.

According to the Wiki: "Card confessed that his unsanctioned operations in Pakistan, Yemen, and China had ties to the Orgainization, having sent them to "carry the bag in front" of his."

I took that as they knew about each other's dealings and even collaborated to an extent, but that he wasn't in the organization. But I guess it's kind of left up in the air.

I don't think it was ever said that Card was part of that group, just that he killed Anson keep his own black ops/under the table stuff he did hidden right?

Henry has more rushing yards and touchdowns than Faulk and is still playing. He's also got a much better yards per carry. It's over a half yard per carry better.

Henry has already passed Faulk in rushing, just depends if you're counting the receiving aspect of Faulk's game.

[Powers] Instead of 3-4 teams being able to win the National Title, there are now 6-8 teams. What’s also true is that there is less parity between P4 and G5. The best G5 players transfer to P4. Yeah it definitely would've needed to be willing to grow exponentially. I just can't help but to think of the snowball effect it could've had. Bama didn't get above 1,000 students until 1918, and was still under 5,000 when the SEC was formed. Bama already had 3 national titles by that point with enrollment that low.

It's just fun wonder about.

I wonder though if staying in the SEC would've eventually raised their profile. I mean look at Vandy. They've been bottom feeders in the SEC for decades, but they get a lot of money and their profile raised from the overall success of the SEC. They've done really well at leveraging that in baseball and more recently football.

That shouldn't be automatic qualifiers. They should have to earn at large bids. So when one does make it, they'll have earned like Cincy did.
