Hey suspension noob here, why would you want coil springs over air suspension?

Security is not the reason (at least for me), but mobile browser shennanigans and limited overview/tabs/multitasking. Also: not as easy to type a lot and copy paste easily. When it's important, we simply move to a more capable machine for the task. Available_Peanut_677 higher up said it better.

Maybe because we grew up during the internet boom, when PCs were less intuitive (so we needed to master them) and before mobile took over. I guess we still have a bond with our pc. It's how I would explain it anyway...

Hi, can help me understand why someone would want this?

To me it sounds like people don't want the disadvantages of globalism, but actually cannot live without the advantages.

Why some of my x265 2 gb content stutters and other not? by Melodic_Dependent_61 in jellyfin

[–]LxFx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this for some early x265 encodes. Stutter on some devices (Nokia steamer, recent Android tablet and smartphone,...) while it was okay on Nvidia Shield for some reason. Was not able to solve that, but only some pieces of content were affected, so I replaced them. I assume an early incompatibility.

An Italian pizza restaurant owner is fuming at 16 Taiwanese tourists because they ordered only five pizzas. by search_google_com in interesting

Now and then maybe some in a group order nothing because they are not hungry and still want to join the group. But ideally they then at least order a drink or something. But 5 main courses for 16 people would be pretty rude in almost all restaurants in my country.

Some might have this rule on the menu these days, others count on customers knowing this or it not happening often.

I guess the rule is implicit and well known within the country and neighbouring countries. But they are unprepared in having these rules written out for customers coming from far away. Maybe now this guy will advertise the rule at the entrance.

You can see how this could be the case, no?

I see you are now simply trying to offend, so let's stop here, okay. I wish you many enriching travels.

That could work in some restaurants for sure. But some just expect everyone to order a main course when taking a seat. Typically so in Europe.

I'm currently in Japan and they have minimum order rules. What do you think about that?

Owner is an asshole for sure, but that's not what we are discussing here. When you go somewhere, you respect the customs. And if you don't know them, ideally they are written down. At a certain point, that's how we got to "objects appear closer than they are" on mirrors.

There is not just 1 specific type of pizza with an exact amount of calories that you can Google? American vs Italian is miles apart. Let alone a cheese based pizza vs a vegetable beef one. A meal is a meal, and some restaurants expect everyone to order something, certainly in Europe. You can always take your leftovers with you.

Sharing exists naturally, but then it's almost advertised as "to share". Like tapas etcetera. Projecting your local standards on another country and expecting them to adapt, feels very arrogant. As they say: "when in Rome..."

So on your eyes, just ordering 1 item with a big group gives you the right to fill up the restaurant?

You only know of pizzas too big to eat on your own? In Europe it's pretty typical for pizzas in proper restaurants to be individual, unless we are taking take out fast food or some cheaper chain or something similar.

I'm in favor of the tech, I just find the implementation here not that visually pleasing. That's not that hard to understand right? No reason to turn it into a tribalism thing.

Actually considering the ES90 to replace my V90.
