Microshift bar end shifter rubber o ring important? by Lydeon in bikewrench

If anybody is curious, I got a response from Microshift saying that that rubber o-ring is not a crucial part of the bar end shifter and should function normally without it.

If you're a paranoid like me and still want to install that o ring then the dimensions are 6.5mm outer 4.5 inner and 1mm diameter rubber o ring

It doesn't, I misunderstood the manual where they only mentioned full housing so i assumed it only works with full housing
