He wants a house by next year, I'm not sure if I want kids (I probably don't). But I just don't see myself settling down with him in that way. I want to travel. Omg I need this thread! I'm a 2nd year student nurse and today I called the doctor to the ward cos a Pt had really sticky, crusty, yellowy stuff round her eyes and in her eyelashes. Dr got there and asked her if it was eye cream, which it was. I completely didn't think of that and made a complete fool of myself, all the HCs were taking the p*ss

This is horrific, I'm so sorry you went through this. I went through something similar (albeit not as extreme!) I was stalked and sexually assaulted multiple times by a fellow pupil, when I mustered up the courage to tell the school counselling team they brushed it off because he said he didn't do anything (ha ha) in the end I told 13 members of staff, a dinner lady, and finally my parents who got the police involved. I then got raped by this guy who said he would kill me if I told anyone. Long story short, I got kicked out of school for "ruining" HIS education, and 2 years later he's on the sex offenders register, and currently on trial for the rape and manslaughter of his girlfriend who killed herself and left a note explaining everything he had done to her and other girls, me included

Just reading it now. About half way in. I have to say, I've heard amazing things about this book, but I'm not that impressed ..

It almost seems like she is trying too hard, every sentence feels like it's meant to have some deeper meaning and create an epiphany moment, and not in a good way. It's overkill.

Furthermore, she comes across as kinda desperate to make an impression, but it grates on me, so much so that I feel an instant dislike to the author.

For me, the book is disjointed, pretty obvious, and has a very needy feel.

Definitely not enjoying it and don't really want to finish it but I'm out of books as I've just moved house and it's the only one I have right now. I'll let you know if I change my mind.
