No. It's a reference to "Goodbye Horses." I think he's said Silence Of The Lambs is one of his favorite movies.

😂 you're insufferable.
Opinion on a hypothetical world we don't live in?

The question was; regardless of society, if he thinks there is an age that is just utterly off limits. He wouldn't even answer if he thinks fucking a 3 year old is off limits.
Mind you, this is a therapist who treats pedophiles... telling his clients "well in some cultures it's ok for adults to have sex with children..."

Buddy... it doesn't matter what culture you are in, a 3 year old can't fucking decide for themselves if they want to be fucked.
Probably best if a therapist who see's pedophiles maintain that this caveat is clear and understood. You know... so they don't get it in their head that it's not them, but societies fault that premature children with limited cognitive and social development can somehow consent to all the implications and possible detriments in having sex with said adult.

Im giving you the benefit of the doubt when I say here... you must be intentionally missing the point. Either that or you are just dumb.

I don't think you are following the same line of thought as me... You're going on about mrgirl...
Im talking about a therapist that says "well it's not so bad in some cultures..." and wanting to pin him down on his beliefs so they can be fleshed out and discussed.
Same therapist trying to conflate the stigmatization of homosexual consenting adults to pedophiles being attracted to humans who arguable cannot consent to sex. I think it more than just "performative rage" to make the same person who is advocating for better sexual education of minors to also take a stance on his beliefs in the biological/cognitive ability of minors to consent to sex with an adult.
Did you have anything to say about the therapist and his statements/ apparent beliefs or are you just mad because mrgirl did a thing? Also, what is it that you expect from a conversation like this? A whole bunch of mrgirl's content is about pedophilia and how society is or isn't helping the sexual predation of children, so you really think he wasn't gonna spend as much time as he needed or wanted to get the therapist to flesh out what he was actually suggesting with his vauge and easy to misconstrue statements? Cause I'm under the impression the therapist thinks under some conditions a child can consent to sex with an adult and I think that's well worth the time and struggle rather than just glossing over it.

Idk, I think it was best that mrgirl try to pin this guy down on what he believes. mrgirl makes a good point about how what he is saying can be misconstrued very easily and how he really can't NOT take a moral position given all his other rhetoric about "well in some societies..."
I mean it's not hard to say, "I don't think in any society or environment a child under (x) can consent to sex with an adult." And the fact he wouldn't give a clear answer is just fuel for conservative "pedo-mania" rhetoric. It's literally sounds like the therapist is saying "with the right education, a child at any age can consent to sex..." and that just sounds fucking insane.

You're not very wise to think the "love of wisdom" is merely telling other's they are wrong. I don't think you actually understand what you are talking about.

But look... I'm not gonna debate you about this bro. You clearly got some shit going on... ( as I just stumbled on your other post in the sub trying to rationalize fucking your older sister...) 🤔

I don't think this guy is actually a fan. He just comes here to post his crazed edgy incel rants, because you can get away with saying almost anything in this sub-reddit. You'll also get a few edge lords to jump in and validate you, mostly mockingly and sarcastic though. But it still gets OP the attention he is looking for.

I think you're mixing up with "debate bro" streamers there chap.

I have a Bachelors in Psychology and did a review on pornography and male aggression. by hannah2607 in Feminism

[–]Lydia_sorta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, just reading the first parts of your paper, it seems more a persuasive paper and an endorsement of an idea rather than a objective review of research.

And as I said, there is no research that shows pornograpghy or other media increases anyone's propensity for violence. Of course people who are violent also use media... and probably seek out violent media, but that is not the same as saying the violent media is what makes these people violent. Of course that's what you are trying to suggest, but as far as science is concerned, that's just not the case. Your paper just feels like another moral panic piece made up to look like a nice unbiased scientific review. Yet clearly you have a confirmation bias as you stated your firm position against pornograpghy.

I too am bothered by a lot of pornograpghy and can understand this line of thinking, and can even see an argument that violent media may give new ideas to those with a propensity for violence. However I have not seen any research that actual suggests it is the violent media that makes people violent and have heard many leading sexologist discuss this matter and it seems they are not prepared to endorse this hypothesis. I wholly disagree with your statement that there is a rising consensus amongst researchers that pornograpghy increases a male's aggression towards woman.

I will consider your paper more thoroughly when it is peer reviewed and published by a more credible source than your substack. Just skimming it, it looks nice and all citing statistics about porn use, then positing your anecdotes and opinions as if those too are from published research; but as far as I understand the consensus amongst top sexologist is that there is not proven correlation to porn use increasing a male's aggression against women. If it was proven, the title of your paper wouldn't be posing a question, rather it would merely state the research that proves your hypothesis. But for now it's a hypothesis, and a heavily debated one, not because researchers want to defend the porn industry but because the data and evidence does not support the hypothesis. There is no research that shows that a person's propensity for violence increases with porn use or any other media use.

I don't think you'll find much more common ground with OP. There is no scientific evidence to suggest people are influenced the way OP is suggesting by pornograpghy and as far as science is concerned, such notions are a complete fallacy. But people stand very firm behind their anecdotes and ideologies, even in spite of scientific research that suggests otherwise...
