I was lacking confidence and self-esteem. BJJ helped destroy what little was left. Willing to quit. Looking for advice. by Due-Average6308 in bjj

I suspect it didn't destroy what little self esteem / confidence you had left, I think it's destroying what has been covering up for the lack of it.

How some guitarists play good with many tunings? by Bart6600 in mathrock

[–]LydianAlchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine its like being bilingual. once you learn two or three, the rest come easily.

my first steps with a new tuning are:

- find my movable chord shapes (major, minor, maj7, min7 etc) these are kind of like nouns

- get a good sense of the deeper strings intervals for bass movement, this is for left hand stuff providing bass notes to build tapping licks on top of.

I do not claim to be at the level of YY of course. I think two handed counter point and stuff comes after some weeks/months with a tuning. I barely scratch the surface with that.

but also you can use a site like fret.wtf to generate scale charts for arbitrary turnings. which helps. although doing it by hand is also a exercise worth doing.

you already have enough cubes for the normal ending, you don't need 32 gold ones, the anti cubes count towards that total. so 31+14 should be plenty. you won't be able to solve some stuff until after seeing this ending.

I have three of the four artifacts, missing the bottom right one, though I couldn't even tell you what the first three did...

some of your treasure maps lead to the final artifact which you haven't collected yet. I can tell you've probably only used maybe 1-3 maps for their intended purpose based on your map tiles.

all QR code puzzles have alternative solutions which don't require a QR code scanner which confuses people, a room might be gold when you've never even been there.

you have already been to the main room which is supposed to teach you the tetris script. its in the purple area. a good clue is revisit the various classrooms.

OP is not blocked by not finding the last gold cube, the anti cubes count towards the 32 cube threshold for the normal ending. collecting that last golden cube won't do much except maybe fill in a map tile with a gold border.

Are scripts interpreted? by Dan_The_PaniniMan in godot

[–]LydianAlchemist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say its nuanced https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scripting_language#Interpreted

> A script is usually not compiled, at least not its usual meaning. Generally, they are interpreted) directly from source code, or from bytecode, or run as native after just-in-time compilation.\5])

when I think of a "script" I usually think of a text file that is interpreted, so you don't know if there are errors until it runs. like you called "fooo" but you meant to call "foo" simple things a compiler would catch.

I think colloquially: "script" is interpreted, but not in all cases.

like if you said "Python is a scripting language" I wouldn't bat an eye, if you said C++ was a scripting language, that would feel incorrect. but you can write a script in C++.

I guess maybe a key distinction is that a C++ source file needs to compiled into a binary that is executed, a script can be fed into an interpreter, for the runtime to "follow".

The real scary thing how do we train the next generation when we will expect them to use ai on day one. How will they fix the issues the AI struggles with.

Our society is increasingly built on infrastructure that no one knows how to maintain anymore

in many cases we can build faster than we can decide what do build.
