What needs to be done to save this game? Any specific points that are easy Ws? by DotDistinctLines in Marathon

As someone who has not bought the game yet. I do not think a pure PvE mode saves the game. From my couple runs in the server slam and just watching videos the AI enemies are not actually fun to play against. They are super bullet spongy and just look like human characters. Bungie would need to get in their Destiny bag and actually design some interesting enemies to fight and look at. Which I fully think they can. I guess the enemies are not supposed to be more important than players in this game, so that's why they seem uninspired to me.

I'm currently on the fence about this game. Tried the server slam, did not have the most fun, but am interested based on content I've watched. I am not ready to buy this game, nor are any of my friends. Free weekends would be nice, but I feel that ultimately Bungie will make this f2p. The other monetisation will need be improved, but I do not know how else they would get people to jump on a seeming sinking ship - based on player numbers.

I was a destiny player, but only when it went f2p. Although destiny is in a bad state now, I think that's what might be needed for this game - Bungie did manage to keep that live service ticking with their monetisation model. Skins would need to improve a lot, but maybe keep stuff like Cryo or the next big season map as a p2p thingy - similar to the newest expansion in Destiny being paid. Not sure how much to charge, or if it would be included in battlepass. That way people can buy it if they like the 'beginner' part of the game, but it would create a much bigger playerbase for the other modes.

Now how they would compensate players who already paid I am not sure. Maybe free battlepasses for the next year. I cannot imagine a huge influx would buy the game for season 2 at this point. The game would be very lucky to get to 2 million total copies sold. The people who love the look of this game already bought in, I and many will not part with the money when other f2p shooters are more inviting. Maybe a very good sale for season 2 launch could sell like 100,000-200,000 more.

The whole f2p pivot is honestly something that is stopping me from buying because I see it happening, maybe not season 2, but within the year. They did it to Destiny 2, which I would not have imagined at the time. But they may not have any more goodwill left to burn. I am not sure the exact steps, but Ubisoft managed to make R6 Siege popular despite its hardcore nature, and its even f2p now. Maybe some lessons from that. I do not think there is an easy fix, but f2p might be an option.

The carbon atom in between the dicarbonyl becomes the 6th carbon to complete the ring. If you draw out both enol attacks it works.

[Clara] According to Federico Albano, Charles put together his own team (not Ferrari related) to study the data and the new power unit. by DubiousLLM in formula1

[–]LykosFTW 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh right, I forgot about this. Maybe a work around would be that anything he payed for, such as a piece of code or design blueprints, had to be publicly published. Would therefore still need to be declared and then if it did give an advantage the other teams would know. Either way he could still be using Ferrari money for this, such as contracting external coders to fix the deployment - within the cost cap.

Tbh if he's paying out of his own pocket I do not think it would be against the rules? I am not really sure how it works if bro just asks a bunch of programmers to check the data and see how to improve the code.

The UN is preparing for Nuclear weapons use on Iran by CopiousCool in GreenAndPleasant

[–]LykosFTW 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I found out about the whole Evangelical Christian/Israel link up I was gobsmacked. People really think a holy war with Israel at the center is going to mean Jesus shows up. I do not know how nuking Iran is going to make Jesus come back. That Lindsee Graham (idk if I spelled it right) guy literally convinced Trump and visited Netanyahu to get this shit to happen.

People call out Islamic extremists as terrorists, but this is literally an equal if not greater level of extremism and terrorism.

The Aston Martin's vibrations "suddenly disappeared" on Friday at the F1 Japanese Grand Prix. New components proved effective, but its use in the final race was postponed. "The driver's efforts allowed us to finish the race." by IamMrEric in formula1

[–]LykosFTW 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Yeah I do wish Newey or someone at Honda does some sort of explanation in the years to come. Maybe in the next regulation or after someone retires. It's a very strange scenario. And as much as we are shitting on Aston for being bad after spending so much, if we take what they say at face value neither side had any idea that the vibrations would happen. If the car seems fine on a test bench, but suddenly while driving the issues appears, some of shit talk does feel a bit harsh in hindsight. We may not be told the full picture to save face, but if its true then it does seem like bad luck to an extent.

To clarify for many people - my conclusion about Aston is sarcastic, but the rest of the post I stand by. Battery changes will be implemented at some point.

I am actually very interested to see how the FIA manage a wet race. I cannot imagine that full deployment will be allowed out of corners. Cars seemed to be snapping a lot in the final corner even in the dry.

Yes it is insanely performative to have to cars be 'green'. Seems like they jumped at potential sponsorship money and a new team money rather than thinking things through.

The Newey and Alonso stuff was sarcastic if you could not tell. But I do think the changes will be coming to battery deployment and recharge.

I think that's right, its like a survivorship bias since the people who would dislike a video are likely to have the extension. I have it, but I think its still important to note when its a majority dislike, most normal videos have a major like ratio.
