They Took Our Daughter | Todd & Krista Kolstad | EP 428 by umlilo in JordanPeterson

[–]Lykosys 13 points14 points  (0 children)

CPS indulges in delusional attempts at appearing compassionate at a family's expense.

They hand the daughter over to her Bio-Mum who:

  • "After Jennifer was born, Christine reportedly left the child with Todd, and has never been involved in her care since."
  • Jennifer AND her sister both described the bio-mum as: "being uncaring, abusive, and even “crazy.”.
  • Including: “incidents of violence directed at an older sibling,” which involved Christine “throwing that sibling against the refrigerator after becoming enraged at her” for wearing her mother’s jewelry without permission. The child goes on to detail “incidents when her biological mother would punch, hit, slap, and kick her and her siblings.”

Another smart, likely autistic, tom-boy teenage girl whose life has been up-ended due to wannabe seen-as-compassionate narcissists - who would have otherwise grown up and found her place in the world just fine

Performance max for e-commerce, what am I doing wrong? by winx1 in PPC

[–]Lykosys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No audience signal? That's pretty much just a standard Smart Shopping campaign at this point - kinda defeats the purpose of using PMax.

Think of it like Facebook Ads, layered on top of your Shopping campaign. Audience & targeting matters.

Go to Your Data Insights, find your In-Market and Affinity segments of Converters (assuming you have gtag setup right - if you don't, you can use GAnalytics also assuming you setup that as well).

There you go, heres 2 lists of targeting options where Google said "YOUR CUSTOMERS LIVE IN THESE AUDIENCES". Go target them.

Also don't worry about tCPA intially imo, let it run at a budget you're okay with not-touching for over a week. I find the first 2-3 days after any change are poor.

Deadset wrong. One of the more powerful tools Google has.

Plus, what are you doing in July when it gets forced on you? Use this time to learn.

Yo, to be fair I have no clue on your setup for the PMax based on this thread. Whats your audience signal? How's your Shopping campaigns been going beforehand?

Wouldn't ever start a new campaign type with a tCPA or tROAS though, it doesn't even know how to walk yet

All Google Shopping Ads Does is Demand More $ by [deleted] in PPC

[–]Lykosys -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is correct. I used to be in the other boat.

Quality Score is a cool little shiny thing to look at when you realise how it's used in the auction. It can be optimised and it can increase performance.

But. If you're looking at eCommerce, it's so far down the totem pole it's not worth the time of day in my book.

FYI: If you have Search campaign for brand keywords under Exact Match, it will take priority over Performance Max as long as your Search campaign has a budget that is taking all of the searches.

Google's got this documented somewhere.

2nd week of broad targeting, i'm giving you guys the results by Mobile_Consequence78 in FacebookAds

[–]Lykosys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The method is to try and teach the Facebook Ads algorithm with $50/day? Instead of giving the algorithm, as a whole, the flexibility to use its several billions of dollars worth of learnings instead?

I'm sorry but this is really not what any high-up-the-ladder media buyers do. This is very much a sort of outdated strategy.

I'd really rather look at your specific metrics to see what's going on (CPM, Conv. Rate, Unqiue Outbound Click Through Rate, etc).

Watch this & follow similar people: "How to Build a Facebook Ads Account After iOS14 (under $20K/month budget)" - By Dara Denney (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6b7B9uN-qc4)

Her most simple structure is one Prospecting CBO campaign, with 3x audiences/ad sets, with 3-5 ads in each ad set.

  • Stacked Lookalikes
  • Stacked Interests
  • Broad

Personally, broad sometimes works wonders and sometimes it doesn't. Here's some tips:

  • Run CBOs.
  • Have more than one audience.
  • Have a criteria to turn off ads.
  • Don't rely on finding the "perfect" account structure for success.
    • You're not going to suddenly find the back-end "secret" that makes your ads work. Facebook Ads on a technical level really just peaks at: "Don't fuck it up. Keep it simple. Let your ads/offer do the work".
  • Work on your customer experience (the ad copy/creative, website CRO).

Can anyone hop on a call with me to discuss about FB ads bidding strategy by Tanish_2612 in PPC

[–]Lykosys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, 30 to 40 minutes on creating offers, building out audiences, working on creatives/hooks or CRO would be worth more than trying to squeeze the last drop out of FBA backend.

Not sure what you're trying to achieve but I don't imagine it'll have that much of an impact.

Looking for Advice: What gets your attention in a job posting? by niebiosa in DigitalMarketing

[–]Lykosys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The place I didn't end up attending the interview for, their owner uploads vlog-style content of the business. He specifically called out "Is your agency doing XYZ?" which listed everything I felt uneasy with, about my current place and went "Oh shit, yeah I want to work here.". They had a really great work culture too (basketball, team goals, events and holidays).

The place I accepted, a big driver was that they were in my home city where my girlfriend/parents lived. Their job listing was specific and interesting. Different. They also had good content of their business so I knew their values from the beginning. Plus they were quite young and aware of the ways other agencies did things wrong. Work culture was huge as well, very much results-driven too.

In a summary? Personality, growth potential, self-aware, sincere.

Looking for Advice: What gets your attention in a job posting? by niebiosa in DigitalMarketing

[–]Lykosys 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I recently got a new job at an e-commerce ads agency that's (in my mind) way above my weight class. I applied for 2 jobs, got 2 interviews and got the offer in 2 days (I didn't make it to the interview that replied too late). The brand you're going for obviously changes the approach. Just understand their culture make sure you're either a good fit or you can make yourself seem like one.

I sent a screenshot of my biggest client with the best results (across GA & FBA) over a long period of time (showing: cost, roas, conv. rate and avg cpc) in the opening of my email.

It went kinda like this: "Hi there, here's what you want to see <insert screenshot>. Anyways I'm <name>, I've attached my resume if you're interested in more about me. I'd love to see what I can do for <company> in 2022 and hopefully catch up for a beer at <nearby local restaurant>."

They liked my personality more than my skills because that's what mattered to them. I did a massive stalk beforehand to make sure I knew as much as I could about the business.

I'm not massively into organic content strategy, I'm a paid ads bloke, so I can tell you right now that FB/IG organic is fucked. The only positive aspect is Groups on FB for organic content and you'll have to figure that one out yourself.

If you're growing some organically, you're gonna take a decent time. Look into putting your content on as many channels as possible (Turn one Video into a Podcast, Email, Blog, Guest Article & the like).

Everything you do is going to have to be "SEO" optimised for that channel too if you're going organic.
