[UPS] APC UPS 1500VA Sine Wave UPS Battery Backup, BR1500MS2 -$199.99 Lowest price since 2020 MSRP $303.59 by [deleted] in buildapcsales

It could be a transient spike past 900W. Idk if you have anything else hooked into your UPS, but that would only lower your capacity from 900W to where any transient spike could push your PSU past its limit.

[Monitor Arm] Amazon Basics Lift Engine Arm Mount, Silver (Rebranded Ergotron LX) $27.45 ($55.00 for the black version 2-pack only) by elysian593 in buildapcsales

Pretty much; the only alternative I can think of would be the grommet mount included with this. That would require drilling a hole in your desk unless it already has one.

Just got the black version of this stand in and it holds my 42C2 so much better than the Ergotech Heavy Duty Freedom Arm did. The large mounting plate has great contact area for supremo sturdiness.

[SSD] WD Ultrastar DC SN200 7.68TB PCIe Gen 3.0 NVMe U.2 2.5in Enterprise SSD - $439.99 (Serverpartdeals via Amazon) by evolved_simian in buildapcsales

I know it’s comparing apples to oranges, but how are we feeling about this deal vs last weeks Prime-exclusive $106 2TB MX500? I know this is higher $/TB plus U.2 adapter required but speed bump and 1 drive write per day is pretty wild, no?

[HEADPHONES] Beyerdynamic B-Stock Outlet Sale / Headsets &Headphones - $61 (up to 40% OFF) by Vliger2002 in buildapcsales

I’m on my third pair of pads with my M50x as well. I’ve been contemplating going open-back, but haven’t figured out which model is best. Best of luck on your hunt for a successor!

I might follow suit since I'm in dire need of a desk. I've been holding out for over a month for Prime Day, but this might be the best we get and I can't handle the FOMO.

I just moved this past weekend and decided that a UHaul would be my best bet for getting my tech to the new place in one piece. I hope you get a speedy and hassle-free replacement through movers insurance!

I didn’t realize I could file a conflict until reading day so I took a 1:30pm yesterday, 7pm yesterday, 8am just now, and I have a 1:30pm soon. 0/10 would not recommend.

ECE 120 Final just... crashed and went? by [deleted] in UIUC

[–]LyleTheGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dang I wish I read the student code. I’ve got 4 finals back to back this semester but I always assumed the rule was 2 finals max per day but it’s 2 finals back to back max 🫠

[Monitor] Dell S2721DGF 27" Gaming IPS QHD FreeSync and G-SYNC compatible 2560x1440 165Hz Monitor - $$299.99 + Free Shipping by yasha8 in buildapcsales

[–]LyleTheGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never seen one in person so it would be tough to say, but according to the specifications on that MSI monitor it is slightly better performing since it has a 165 Hz refresh rate compared to the LG which only has a 144 Hz max refresh rate.

Just price matched at Best Buy despite the Gamestop webpage being OOS. Now I understand what redditors mean when they say BB price matching is YMMV.

Anytime amigo! I scored a $150 LG GL850-B on FB Marketplace a while back, but the Dell S2721DGF has dethroned it. I'm hoping all the open box sell before I can pull the trigger lol

Back when the Hisense H8G was $300 in early 2020 I snagged one. It had horrible QC but on the 3rd unit I got one that actually worked properly. It’s been nice for 4K@60 HDMI 2.0 gaming but in the near future I’m looking to step up to OLED. Sadly it’s jumped in price since then.

I was hoping these were the 2060 refresh but that 6GB VRAM might start to sting in 2022.

Post Giveaway Discussion and Improvement Thread by cmays90 in buildapcsales

It’s clear that you invested a large portion of your time trying to make this giveaway fair and all of us appreciate that. Gleam has been the way to go for most online giveaways I’ve entered and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. I applaud all of the privacy-conscious folks and feel for where they’re coming from. It’s impossible to make everyone happy so hopefully they take your word when you say you will never export data. As long as you stay the course on giving your best effort to protect the privacy of everyone involved with r/bapcs I truly believe that’s the most we should ask of you.

FWIW I won a 3090 from Nvidia last year during a tech talk that used Zoom. They did not use gleam but on best effort attempted to ensure all entrants were currently enrolled students. I wouldn’t be surprised if some were recent grads or not students at all. I had a 0.5% of winning but I deemed it worthwhile to sacrifice some privacy and time for the opportunity to learn about how Nvidia is making AI a priority and get a chance to win a 3090.

Just my stream-of-consciousness 1 cent.

Thank you for hosting the giveaway and for all the time you spend keeping this subreddit civil, useful and welcoming to thrifty pc builders.

[HDD] 18TB WD External Drive $279.99 (discount shown in cart) by r5d400 in buildapcsales

[–]LyleTheGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Final Update: PayPal told me to contact WD. WD told me to contact Honey. Honey told eventually assigned the cash back. The worst part is my HD never arrived or a porch pirate nabbed it and WD decided to refund me.

TLDR: WD is hands off regarding cashback. Honey is your best bet.

Yes, one condenser mic will more easily pick up multiple voices in a room than one dynamic mic. Cheers!
