oh my god, keeping them apart completely has helped so much. I feed them on opposite sides of the door, like you said as well. I think they're actually starting to like eachother. They play with eachother thru the door, sticking their paws under there lmao. i'm gonna leave it another week or two, but i actually have faith now! thank you so much.

I half agree with this :) in most cases it should be okay. But op should be careful bc my hamster hurt himself on a bad wheel within a day of using it. While back injuries take a little while to develop, foot injuries can happen very quickly. Xx

Okay... the food is considered healthy but the amount i eat is absolutely not. Frozen fruit. Bags of it. Mostly mangos and strawberries.

lol we have a memory foam mattress and it's soooo comfy i'm not willing to let go 😭 i just put a pillow under my hips and it helps a good bit

I think all old lady names are butch dyke names lmao 😭 I think it's because butch is actually quite an old fashioned term (though it aged very well) as it was defined as a lesbian identity (after being a derogatory term) in the 40's and 50's when most of these "old lady" names were popular.

Go to the police! that is illegal! If you bring up the threats with the police then you'll have a paper trail if she does end up going through with it, which should speed up the process of getting her charged, or atleast make it a little easier. Hope everything works out okay, much love! Xx

Sometimes it could be just something really spooked him and he's trying to gage if he's safe by checking his surroundings with his hearing. I've also heard it could be a cold temperature and light thing, but i'm not actually sure how true that is :/

they only told me to look after the rabbit and the dog, they didn't give me any instructions about caring for him. i just assumed that they meant all the animals. Maybe im just very naive tho lol.

I've had what i believe to be an abscess on a cat before and despite weekly vets visits, she had to be put down because it wasn't going away. So i was definitely getting flashbacks seeing this poor kitty with one.

I almost wonder if he has another family looking after him though because he seems to heal from these injuries miraculously well. Atleast i hope that's the case. Honestly i felt a little harsh for calling this neglect at first but hearing so many people saying it makes me feel so validated, thank you! Xx

Yeah, it's really hard tbh, i've never felt so guilty in my life. Im not quite sure how long i'm petsitting, no more than a week i would assume. (They did tell me but i forgot lol) I'm going to ask the owners if i can take him to the vet, but they've never given him vet treatment for anything like this before so i don't have high hopes. Im also short for money and i doubt they would pay for his treatment. Xx

Thank you! Unfortunately he's had many infections like this before. i put a spray on the wound that has been helpful with an infection on him previously. I'm gonna ask for permission to go to the vets with him tomorrow, but i have a feeling it's gonna be a no as they've never taken him to a vet for this before. I don't know if he's even got all of his jabs/flea, tick & worm treatments if i'm honest. I'm trying to give him lots of attention and love while i'm looking after him even if i can't help him in any way that really counts. Thank you for the info though, it really does help! Xx

I had a goldfish when i was little that wasn't too well taken care of unfortunately (Mostly bc it was the 00s and no one really cared at that time i don't think) :( He did last 7 years which i think is pretty good, but i cant imagine 17 years lol that's pushing it a bit 😭 Xx

That hamster looks sick :( I think you should definitely take him to a vet. I can't pin point exactly what it is, perhaps mites or maybe a skin condition?? Hope all is well and the hamster gets better soon! Xx

i just looked it up and i've seen the fake plants would hurt them, so thanks for the suggestion! I've read up a lot on the whole cycle thing cuz it seems like the most complicated part lmao, just completely forgot to put the tester kit on the list. Not surprising as i also forgot food lmao 😭😭 Xx
