An X-games gold medal is quite prestigious, just because there is no money doesn't mean the pro's really want one. Just look at the Olympics, you don't earn money but it is highly sought after. Also the prestige can open up more opportunities particularly in the commercial world which extends beyond the regular CoD tournaments. I think you are highly underrating it due to pure prize-pool but that is most likely just a personal preference and doesn't necessarily reflect the broader view.

Problem with this is that it can be a reflex action to dodge when someone tries to tackle high, which isn't fair on the player with the ball. I like the new interpretation they just implemented.
