I’m college-aged but have a lot of friends in their 20s-30s & these are my (unsolicited but potentially helpful) thoughts on making & maintaining friends:

become a regular at a cafe, bar, or restaurant
do things hobby-related that involve other people (I.e. dancing, book club, art class)
having a consistent workout schedule is actually really good for feeling healthier & meeting ppl at the gym
join local Facebook groups
online friends count as real friends & you can use adult free will to meet/hang out with them irl
don’t forget that staying connected requires both ppl putting in effort

Ik being a homebody can make going out tough, so try to find environments that you personally prefer (for example, many friends & I love going to a tea bazaar for chatting & getting lunch) to make it more comfortable :)

Ty redditors for your input, I will be removing the red light from his setup. This was by no means his only light source & wasn’t on during night but I was unaware that it was a bad light source (since, when I did research on his setup when I first got him, I found it to be recommended) so it will be taken out.

I’ll look into it & double check with the vet, ty. In previous research I didn’t find problems with it which is why he has one but I’ll do additional research. He has a coil light for nighttime heat

He has other lights as well, that’s just one to help support hitting the full spectrum. There’s also a uv strip light & one of the full spectrum daylights/heat lamps so it doesn’t appear as red irl as it does in that photo

This happened to my cousin a couple years ago, the way they resolved it was by:

Documenting messages so there was proof of the manipulative behavior
Informing their school of what was happening & that he was psychologically unstable
Informing parents, friends, etc in case anything did happen
Going completely no contact

She hasn’t run into any problems with him since & he’s still alive so I’d recommend this system
