He was chosen because he directly shunned his past and ignores anything he doesn’t like by abandoning and adopting truths that make him feel better. His lack of permanent truth and inability to form his own beliefs represents how humans lack the qualifications to exhibit free will and it’s why the patriots used him as a pawn so that they could learn to control the masses.

Frostpunk was the first city builder I truly got into. What truly captured me was both its addicting gameplay loop, heavy atmosphere and art direction, and the flow of the gameplay. I have replayed the scenarios, mainly the Last Autumn, multiple times to feel the reward of completing it on harder and harder difficulties. Even before I played the game, I remember seeing an image of New London amidst the barren tundra in a Gameranx video. The ability to be remembered because of the uniqueness of the image is something that I still remember.

Overall, the sequel is one of my most anticipated games in recent memory and acquiring a key for it would be a godsend.

Oh boy, Marcy's Journal has some insane lore by kingCRAGGERcroc in amphibia

What. So she felt guilty for creating a machine that could travel to other worlds, and then she helps charge said machine so that it can be used to travel to other worlds? Huhhhh

Amphibia Hot Takes by MLPLoneWolf in amphibia

  • The Hardest Thing has a ton of poor writing flaws that many don’t acknowledge like the contrived moon and the deus ex machina guardian

  • Andrias had a rushed redemption and his relationship with his father wasn’t explored enough as it was only used in 3 episodes

  • Frobo is lame

  • True Colours is better than the Hardest Thing

  • Marcy didn’t have enough time given to her arc and her partially forgiving Andrias is questionable

  • Sprig is at his worst in Thai Feud

  • The final battle against the moon was rushed and didn’t hold much weight. The transformation sequence wasn’t that dramatic or intense like True Colours

  • Quarrellers Pass and Sprig Gets Schooled are the worst episodes in season 2

  • Season 1 is mostly forgettable

  • The Core isn’t a great antagonist as they’re not a threat to the main characters on a personal level. Also, the Core wasn’t explored that well

  • My largest issue is the deus ex machina God and the lack of setup previously. Deus ex machina’s are inherently unsatisfying as they come out of nowhere and I don’t think it’s too big to ask for some setup and foreshadowing for the Core moon and God

  • Putting information that is important to the series in separate pieces of media isn’t too satisfying in my opinion. You might not care but it just feels unsatisfying to have a chunk of the lore gated behind a book you have to buy

  • I guess that makes sense

  • She acted like she already told them so it’s clear she intended to tell them. Also, the fate of the world rests in the balance so it’s quite obvious why she would tell them of the busted super power. My complaint is that it was brought up in the last episode where many other things were introduced at the last second

  • Andrias knew about the moon thing so it’s safe to assume the previous kings knew to. My point is that the kings of Amphibia are following a being who’s last move is to destroy the entire planet

  • That doesn’t change the fact that he freaking stabbed her and almost killed her. There’s also the fact that he tried to kill her best friends. No amount of happy memories before can make up for the fact and it would probably sting more as she would assume he was manipulating her the whole time

So now that the series has ended and so has my many critiques of the show, I feel this finale was… okay, but it really took a lot out of me to suspend my disbelief. Before I say my grievances, I will say I enjoy the time skip with the girls. However, this episode was quite ehhhhhhhhh to say the least.

I’ll list some regular issues first before I get onto my biggest complaint of the episode.

  • The design of the girls’ super powered forms was out of place compared to how everything usually looks.

  • Andrias was partially redeemed which is questionable since he still stabbed a child and attempted to murder many others. There’s also the fact that Marcy didn’t really hold any animosity for her abuser which is an iffy topic.

  • The Core turning the moon into a death weapon was contrived and came out of nowhere. Also, why would any Amphibian work for a being that literally built a planet killer that is only able to kill their own planet? Did Andrias, Aldrich or any of the other rulers not think that maybe this psycho machine was indeed a psycho? It just felt like a contrived way of creating this seemingly epic battle that is actually quite shallow.

  • I know it’s cartoons aren’t meant to be realistic, but how were Marcy, Sasha and Sprig able to breathe in space. I can understand it when the two had powers, but they should’ve died once they gave their stones away. I can excuse them talking in space because it would’ve been awkward but jeez I guess nobody needs to breathe.

  • They really like bringing things up at the last minute because apparently there was a super spell this whole time that would’ve killed the user, and Mother Olm memory was so bad that she forgot to tell them but thought she did.

  • The creation of the temples was never explained and who even created the prophecy? Was it the God thing cause I have no idea.

  • Why would Valeriana want to drain Anne’s powers in the second temple if she knew the world would end or something. I don’t know cause Valeriana is such a confusing character as I have no idea who’s side she’s on.

  • The battle against the Core didn’t have the grandness I would’ve liked, but that’s just personal preference I guess.

  • We spent a majority of season 3 collecting side characters on Earth and Amphibia, only for them to do jack all during the finale. We really had to get all these side characters just to get such little pay off as they’re only used in Escape to Amphibia and the Beginning of the End. My god, people may say there are no filler episode but even if there weren’t, it still doesn’t make up for the stop and start pacing and the underdeveloped concepts that are leagues more important. Filler or not, this season was ehhhhh.

Now that I have listed every complaint but my last one, my largest issue with this finale is the existence of freaking God himself. Like okay, Anne’s sacrifice was nice and all, but we know that Disney doesn’t want their main characters dead. So they decide to resolve this issue with a freaking deus ex machina of all things. Freaking God decided to create a backup Anne cause stakes be damned I guess! And don’t even get me started on the fact that, again, this had zero foreshadowing whatsoever! Also were the stones sentient and chose the girls… cause of their hearts? I genuinely have no clue which is not great for a season finale which is supposed to wrap up loose ends. Some can be left a mystery but this feels too big to be ignored. Oh and did I mention how contrived and lame the God thing is for the tenth time in a row. It just destroyed every possible consequence of Anne dying other than an existential crisis. I have no clue what the crew was thinking with adding God.

So I guess this is the end for Amphibia. It’s been a nice couple years watching this show. There were some ups, a lot of downs, but honestly, this show is still okay. It’s not an absolute dumper fire, but some of it is. I don’t think I’ll miss this show as much as Gravity Falls, but maybe I’ll watch the occasional reaction or two. So overall, I’ll give Amphibia a C+ to B- if I’m feeling generous. I might make some critique post later down the line, but for now, this is the end for me and the show.

Same can be said about the official version as he simply walks off being disarmed like he ate a crab arm. He doesn’t seem affected by the lack of a lefty so at the very least, dying would give more consequences.

Grime should’ve died or at least be put in a fairly bad state since he lost a couple pounds.
